The Young And The Restless Comings and Goings news reveals that Robert Newman has joined the team as Ashland’s recast. Tv seasons & spoilers previously reported that a recast could be in the works for the role of Ashland Locke and it looks like that is what has happened.
As Soap Opera Digest reported that Robert, who played Josh Lewis on Guiding Light, will make his debut on Y&R in February. So it is won’t long until we see a new Ashland in Genoa City. Newman indeed is a great choice to take over as Ashland and it will be fun to watch him in action.
Soap fans would recall the daytime vet for playing Josh on Guiding Light. Robert was also a part of Santa Barbara and General hospital for a short period of time. So, he is no stranger to the world of soap operas.
When Richard Burgi recently announced his exit from the show, it was unclear if the character would be written off or recast. But since Ashland is now married to Victoria and an important part of the canvas. It makes sense that with Burgi’s departure, the soap would tap another actor to step in to continue his storyline.
Furthermore, The Young and The Restless viewers must be excited as Ashland has to offer so much more drama. Ashland has been keeping a big secret from his wife and the Newmans. If the secret comes out, there will surely be trouble in paradise.
There are speculations that he might come clean, and Victoria will reflect on the same. Victoria and Ashland will face a rough patch once Ashland’s deceit comes forward. The rumors have it that Ashland will also have issues with the Newmans too after his revelation. We will have to wait and watch.
The good news is, Ashland is going to stick around longer for the daily dose of drama and action. So tell us in the comments below, Are you excited for Robert Newman? Will you miss Richard Burgi?
