The Politician Season 2: Filming In Process
Unlike most other shows on Netflix, The Politician got a two-season order altogether. The streamer was pretty confident about its new creation. Hence, it barely took any time to get into production again. Cast members began filming for the new episodes in nearly a month of the series’ debut. Lead actor Ben Platt shared the news through a post on his Twitter account. Fans expressed their joy upon the return of the second season, although they were amazed by the speedy process.

When fans got to know about the two-season order, everybody wondered if the series would end with the second outing. However, according to reports, the popular show was originally planned to have five seasons. While showrunners still intend to reach the number, they need to convince Netflix first. The Politician is an expensive production and an all-star cast. Hence, it has to generate enough profit to avoid cancelation. Well, it’s also important that Netflix is on a show-slitting spree. What Will Happen Next?
The story of the popular comedy-drama revolves around its lead character Payton Hobart (Ben Platt). Initially, an alcoholic, the high school student, is convinced that he’s destined to become the president of the United States. At first, the first contest he wins is as the president of his high school’s student body. Towards the finale, his gang motivates him to run for the state senate instead.
The second season of the series is expected to pick up the story four years after the events of the debut installment. It will focus on Payton as he runs for Senate in New York against the wily democratic candidate Dede Standish. However, Alice has found that Standish is in a three-way marriage, and the scandal can be used against her in the elections. Yet, the senator has signed on to run for vice president under a young candidate. Well, if she fights dirty, The Politician Season 2 can turn out to be brutal for Payton.
