Back in May last year, Amazon Prime Video picked up Syfy’s show, The Expanse for its fourth season. And since then, the fans of sci-fi drama are waiting. Finally, their wait seems close to ending as there will be a world premiere of The Expanse Season 4, soon.
The Expanse is based on the bestselling book series by Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck under the pen name James S. A. Corey. The show sets into the future hundreds of years ahead, where the whole solar system is colonized. There, Mars is under control of the independent military, and the United Nations controls Earth.
The original broadcaster Syfy aired the show for three seasons. However, canceled its fourth season in May 2018. With the news, the audiences felt disheartened as they wanted more of the sci-fi drama. The cancellation of the show also faced intense criticism. With the usual save-our-show hashtags and tweets on social media, some fans also stood in front of Amazon studios’ at California HQ with banners in hand, to take over and renew the show. As a result, Amazon decided to pick up the series for its fourth run.
The Expanse Season 4: Early World Premiere
A piece of good news for the Expanse fans! The fourth season of The Expanse will have an early premiere. Season 4 will have its world premiere at New York Comic Con in October. This premiere will be conducted months before the actual premiere. The announcement came in two weeks ago when New York Comic Con made it official. Amazon Prime Video will take over the main stage of the Javits Center in New York for world premiere screenings of The Expanse Season 4 and Jack Ryan Season 2. Renewed for Season 5
Yes, the show has been officially renewed for its fifth season also, even before the premiere of Season 4. The news came in on show’s official Twitter handle on July 27, 2019. It seems like Amazon Prime has quite much faith in its sci-fi series, as it renewed the series even without looking through the viewership and rating numbers for the fourth season. Whatever the reason is, the news brought a feeling of joy for the fans of the show, as their hard work of reaching Amazon Prime succeeded.

The Expanse Season 4: Plot Details
Season 4 will be based on the novel Cibola Burn by James S.A. Corey. According to that, the crew of the salvaged Martian gunship Rocinante will travel through one of the wormholes opened in the finale of the third season. Also, the upcoming season will take action to the alien world of Ilus, where colonists are rushing to settle after the Ring Gates opened up hundreds of new worlds to human exploitation.
New York Comic-Con also described the upcoming season of The Expanse. According to that, “While Earthers, Martians, and Belters maneuver to colonize Ilus and its natural resources, tensions rise between the opposing nations, but these early explorers don’t understand the true threat of this new world and are unaware of the larger dangers that await them.”
Not just this, after the world premiere screening of the premiere episode of The Expanse Season 4, the cast of the show, along with the show-runners will appear for an “in-depth conversation.” It will also bring more updates for the forthcoming season.
Joe Miller Returning For Season 4
The Expanse Season 4 will bring an old character back, who died in the second season of the series. Josephus Miller played by Thomas Jane, will reprise his role in the fourth season. Previously, he was a Belter detective who examined a chain of incidents and lost somewhere into the alien world. However, he will return in season four as a detective whose consciousness is absorbed into an extraterrestrial computer, which is also powering the Ring.
