Sense8 Season 3: Why Was The Show Cancelled?
In an interview with The Radio Times, Netflix vice president Cindy Holland revealed the real reason for Sense8’s cancellation and then a quick revival. As for that matter, Holland revealed that the decision to not bring Sense8 Season 3 was because of the audience size and the budget of the show. The show did not entice enough viewers and has a high production cost. She says that at some point if the shows don’t have the kind of viewership that justifies the expense of the series, they would want to end the series.
Then they decided to revive the show for the special episode. They wanted to give all fans of the show a justified end and to put a close to the show. Holland said that they are quite pleased to provide an end to the show. She says that they make the decisions to cancel the show very seriously when they make them.
Holland also says that they believe that Sense8, in particular, has a very important message. The series on the whole, is very important for all the fans around the world. They are very gratified to see the fans pouring so much love for the series. They are very happy that they were able to support the conclusion of the show that seemed very fitting and needed.
What Has Happened So Far?
Sense8 starts with a psychic connection between eight strangers of different walks of life from different parts of the world. They are also birthed by a woman called Angelica. Angelica soon after kills herself to avoid getting captured by a man called “Whispers.” The eight find out that they now are a part of a cluster of “sensates.” They are mentally and emotionally linked and can sense the communication between each other. They can share their knowledge, skills, and language.
In the first season of the show, the eight sensates are shown as they try to live their everyday lives and to figure how all of them are connected. In the meantime, a sensate named Jonas was involved with Angelica. This then comes to aid during the Biologic Preservation Organization and Whispers. Whisper is a high-ranking sensate inside BPO, and the eight of them attempt to hunt him own.
In the second season, all eight characters become use-to their connection and help each other. They learn more about sensates and how they must use their powers. All of them also come to know more about the history and goals of BPO, along with Angelica’s involvement. They also meet other sensates, and not everyone is friendly there. At the same time, Jonas tries to aid them and look after himself after they are captured by Whispers. Whisper is involved in a battle with Will were each other try to outsmart each other. By the end, cluster kidnaps Whispers, and Jonas uses him as a bargaining chip. The heroes discover the personal motivation of Angelica, Whispers, and Will.
The special episode gave a concluding end to the show. This means that fans won’t get to see Sense8 Season 3.
