The fifth season of Power left the audience with its freezing shock in September. And pretty Soon, Power Season 6 will dazzle the fans with its nail-biting crime plot and story-line. The official announcement about the renewal was made via the show’s official instagram handle.
Power is a crime saga of Starz. The show follows a drug dealer turned nightclub owner James St. Patrick, also known as Ghost played by Omari Hardwick. In the show, Ghost tries to liberate himself from the severe drug world inside New York City.
Will Sixth Season Be The Final Season Of The Series?
Speculations are spreading that the sixth season will be the final season of the series. However, the showrunner refused the rumor that the series would end in 2019. Kemp made a statement in an interview with TVLine. According to her:
“The show is ending, but I can’t say when. That would be inappropriate. How I wanted it to be was five seasons. We extended because of needs at the network. So, am I happy to be going into season 6? For sure, because I know where the show is going now.”
Still, the indications are pointing that the sixth season will act as the season finale of the series. The Starz president of programming Carmi Zlotnik confirmed the news about the season is the final one. He stated that Season 6 would bring the audience to the end of what they know is just the first chapter of Power story. He also added that as one chapter comes to an end, another will begin.
The authorities also confirmed the spin-off series of Power. The series will be set in the same universe and will also include all the characters from the same world.
What Will Happen in Power Season 6?
The fifth season of the show left the audience at a humungous cliffhanger. The ten-episode queue saw Kanan (50 Cent) got killed off in a rough encounter with the cops. Meanwhile, Tommy (Joseph Sikora) shot FBI attorney and Ghost’s love interest Angela (Lela Loren) hard in her chest, and Ghost looked on in horror.
Though Angela is not actually dead. The fifth season went to complete blackout just after the scene. Courtney Kemp also teased about this in the same interview. According to her, Lela is in Season 6, but she can not say what she is doing.
As the Ghost will need his vengeance now, Power Season 6 will witness quite a lot of rage between Tommy and him. Previously, Tommy also made Ghost to kill his own dad, and now he shot the woman Ghost loves, though Tommy was trying to kill him only.
According to records, the sixth season will also involve Tommy and two of Dre’s ‘goons.’ The news follows up after the official Power Instagram account suggested there is a “new 1, 2 and 3” on the scene.
Kemp also teased her fans about the sixth season. She stated:
“The story we’re telling in season 6 is so good… it’s so much better because it is really about the inevitability of choices. It’s about the domino effect, and it’s about the things that have happened between Ghost and Tommy and how they are not things that can go back to the way it used to be.”
Power Season 6 Release Date
The sixth season is dubbed as The Final Betrayal. Power Season 6 will premiere on August 25, 2019. The audience is having quite high hopes from the finals season as it will begin the new journey for the next spin-off series. Till then stay tuned for the updates on Power Season 6.
