Set in the 1970s, Mindhunter is an indignant detective drama appreciated by the fans all over the world. The show premiered in 2017 with the return of the famous director David Fincher back to television. Netflix renewed Mindhunter Season 2, not long after it debuted on the streaming platform.

The crime drama introduced us to two agents, Holden Ford (played by Groff) and Bill Tench (played by McCallany). Mindhunter Season 2 Plot: What Will Happen?
Creator Joe Penhall has given us a brilliant set of exhilarating episodes in the first season of Mindhunter. We expect the likewise to happen with Mindhunter Season 2. In an interview with Billboard, David Fincher made a significant revelation about the story of the sequel. He unveiled that Season 2 will exhibit the criminal profiling of new murderers in FBI’s Behavioral Science Unit.
The new season will comprise a disreputable series of murders in Atlanta from 1979 to 1981. The disturbing incidence consists of 28 brutal murders of children, teens, and adults. All these victims were African-Americans.
Wayne Williams, a native of Atlanta, was tried and convicted for two of the total killings.
The second season will also cover the investigation and criminal profiling of a few other dangerous serial killers.
How Many New Serial Killers Will The Cast Have?
The first season mentioned two serial killers Charles Manson and David Berkowitz very often. However, both Manson and David, the later infamously known as Son of Sam never had any scenes throughout the season. Mindhunter Season 2 is expected to bring these deadly killers to the screen.
Moreover, the season one finale gave us a glimpse of the ADT serviceman who was burning several pieces of evidence in Park City, Kansas. The ADT serviceman is expected to be the portrayal of Dennis Rader, also known as the BTK Strangler (BTK stands for “Bind, Torture Kill”). The serial killer murdered ten innocent people in Wichita, Kansas. These killings took place between 1974 and 1991.
Though, the involvement of the BTK killer is still unclear. Mindhunter may also string the storylines of the killer with that of the Atlanta Child Murders.
Mindhunter Season 2 Cast Updates
As the storyline of Season 2 will include some new serial killer, new actors may join the cast.
The Protagonists Groff and McCallany will come back. Along with Anna Torv, who plays the psychologist Wendy Carr. Other members of the ensemble cast, such as Hannah Gross and Cotter Smith will also return to Mindhunter Season 2.
The casting of new additions to the serial killer list is not yet revealed. Nonetheless, there are speculations that Once Upon A Time in the West star Damon Herriman will play Charles Manson.
Mindhunter Season 2 Release Date
The first season of Mindhunter released on Netflix on October 13, 2017. The streaming platform renewed the show in November 2017. However, the release date of Mindhunter Season 2 is undeclared. Since the production of season 2 wrapped in December 2018. The director and executive producer David Fincher also confirmed that the show might release till the last of 2019.
Fans and critics love Mindhunter for its potential content. The show does involve disturbing content, but it never fails to thrill fans. Mindhunter Season 2 will release this year, and the long-awaited show is expected to amaze the fans again.
