Homeland Season 8: Premiere Delayed
Unfortunately Yes! The fans of the Homeland will need to wait quite some more to have the final season. At this year’s Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour, Showtime confirmed that the premiere had been moved on from June 2019 to next year. Homeland Season 8 is now scheduled to premiere on February 9, 2020.

Ambitious Homeland Season 8
Also, the network President of Entertainment Gary Levine stated the reason why the show has been so much delay. According to him, the delays are because of the demands of filming and not because of creative or other issues. The production of the final season is happening in multiple companies, and that is taking time.
Levine also added that the show is going through a relatively smooth process but a very ambitious production schedule. This is taking more time than expected for the completion of production work for the final season.
Homeland Season 8: Final Season or Not?
The star of the series, Claire Danes previously stated that there are quite some chances that the show could continue after the latest chapter. She made the statement on Variety podcast titled Remote Controlled. According to her, Homeland is the kind of show that could keep going on indefinitely because it’s a strange model.
This statement brought in a lot of cheer and happiness among the audience, and also, they started hoping to have many more seasons of Homeland. However, Showtime President David Nevins recently confirmed that they have no plans to continue Homeland after the eighth season.
Homeland Season 8: Plot Details
In the final season of Homeland, the audience will see Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) recovering from her long brutal captivity in a Russian Gulag. Though she might recover physically, her memory would still be still damaged. Saul (Mandy Patinkin) will not be able to see Carrie like this. Also, Saul has been appointed as the National Security Advisor to the newly appointed President Warner (Beau Bridges).
And then, President Warner’s first aim of his administration will be to bring the endless war in Afghanistan to an end. For that, he will send Saul to have peace negotiations with the Taliban. However, the things will not go as planned, and Saul will ultimately ask Carrie to help him to get through with this big chaos.
