Greenleaf Season 4 is on the way for the fans of Oprah Winfrey. Well, their wait is finally over. Oprah Winfrey’s official network, OWN has recently dropped the first trailer for the upcoming season. And that is the only thing people can talk about.
Under award winner Craig Wright’s writing, Greenleaf is a megachurch drama series of Lionsgate. Clement Virgo, Kriss Turner Towner, and Oprah Winfrey serve as the executive producers of the globally acclaimed series. The show premieres on OWN. However, the previous seasons of the series are also available on Netflix.
The series focuses on the Greenleaf family dealing with scandalous secrets and lies in all the seasons. Greenleaf also involves sprawling Memphis megachurch with predominantly African-American members. The show is lead by the patriarch and matriarch of the Greenleaf family, Bishop James Greenleaf (Keith David) along with his wife Daisy Mae Greenleaf (Lynn Whitfield).
Because of its worldwide popularity, the third season of Greenleaf became Wednesday night’s No. 1 original cable series for African-American women. The show also gathered more than 2 million average viewership in each of its three seasons. The audience loved the plot of the show, and because of that, the series received the renewal for the fourth season.
Greenleaf Season 4: Trailer Released
The trailer hinted that the upcoming season would be a lot more uptight than the previous ones. It also feels like there is going to be some intense drama inside the megachurch, and some major arc is going to happen. However, Greenleaf family will try their best to maintain unity between them, as they are already heading to lose the Cavalry to Bob Whitmore, Harmony and Hope Ministers. The trailer only built an intense atmosphere for Greenleaf Season 4.
Need To Save The Cavalry
The upcoming season would entirely focus on the Cavalry. In Greenleaf Season 4, Lady Mae and Grace would likely build an unlikely alliance. The two will take this step in order to bring back the church from Harmony and Hope. For that, Grace will internally take actions as the interim head pastor, while Lady Mae will work outside the church to get back to Cavalry.
Meanwhile, things will get much more intense because of that mysterious phone call received by Grace. The person on the other side of the phone threatened to reveal her biggest secret in the upcoming run. However, the question is, what is that secret?
Greenleaf Season 4 will also focus on Bishop and Lady Mae’s relationship. The two had almost parted their ways in the second season. In the midst of their strangling marriage, the couple never thought that they would also lose their church.
Greenleaf Season 4: Premiere Date
The fourth installment of Greenleaf is scheduled to premiere on September 3, 2019, on OWN. However this time, the show has moved to a new time slot from its usual Wednesday schedule. Greenleaf Season 4 will premiere every Tuesday at 10/9c p.m.
