Finally, after a year and more worth waiting, Mckellan’s family returns with another set of trauma and humor in Family Reunion Season 2 or can say part 3. Since the show aired on Netflix, it has been praised for its engaging plotline and narrative. However, their struggle to adapt to the new place would rise when they meet new challenges. As the exclusive trailer teased, “butterflies also do struggle to get out of the cocoon.”
Family Reunion is a Netflix’s original comedy-drama that debuted back in July 2019. The series created by Meg DeLoatch focused on the McKellan family, who relocated from Seattle to Georgia to reunite with their family. However, they struggle to adapt to the southern culture while the generation gaps being the driving factor of their problems. But the show was timely praised for its straightforward approach to show such family issues with ease.
Family Reunion Season 2: When Will It Release?
Soon, the fans will be able to watch the family dramedy on Netflix. As in early March, Netflix announced that Family Reunion Part 3 would air on April 5. Back in 2019, Netflix ordered 20 episodes of Family Reunion that split into two halves of the first season. So we received ten episodes of the first part with a special episode while the second part only had nine episodes. But this time, Netflix ordered only sixteen episodes, so, likely, part 3 (the beginning of the second season) would only consist of six episodes, and the rest would air as part 4.
Family Reunion Season 2: Who Will Be In The Cast?
The entire McKellans family will return with some guest stars helping them stay in the southern culture. Tia Mowry as Cocoa and Anthony Alabi as Moz will return with their four children. These include Talia Jackson as Jade, Isaiah Russell-Bailey as Shaka, Cameron J. Wright as Mazzi, and Jordyn Raya James as Ami. Besides them, Moz’s parents will return as well- Loretta Devine as Amelia aka M’Dear and Richard Roundtree as Jeb.
Apart from them, some other members would appear in the McKellans family journey as guest stars. These include Anika Noni Rose, who will play Mazzi’s music teacher and first crush. While Bruce Bruce will join as Brother Davis with Kenya Moore as herself (Kenya Moore). As well as Brandi Glanville with Candiace Dillard Bassett and Kelly Perine will join too. It’s unclear what character they would hold on to in part 3 as their role has been kept under wrap. Mark Curry as Principal Glass, Tahj Mowry, Ariel Martin as pop star Jinji Star, Willie Gault, and Bella Podaras will join them as well.
Family Reunion Season 2: What Will Happen Next?
It begins with Cocoa explaining to her daughter about the worth of education when M’Dear broke with- somebody’s gonna break the cycle. Well, the last season saw a dusky path for Cocoa and Moz when they realized they are running out of money. But they planned to enroll Shaka in science and tech classes that later come out costly for them to continue. However, as the trailer proceeds, the family tangles in new trouble to cope with this world.
