Besides, Dead To Me Season 2 was our main concern, and its cancellation could’ve caused much outrage. Millions of fans around the globe adore the unique dark comedy. Hence, the streamer had to renew it for another run. However, along with the green flag came a bunch of other surprises too. Here’s everything to know.
With its debut back in May 2019, Dead To Me won over 30 million hearts in barely a month of its release. Leading actresses Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini gave stunning performances and brought their characters to life. Christina’s Jen, is a vulnerable widow, grieving over her husband’s untimely death. On the other hand, Linda, as Judy, his hit and run killer, attempts to befriend Jen in order to quench her guilt. The story takes insane turns towards the end.
Dead To Me Season 2: Renewal & Production Details
Netflix has so far canceled a bunch of well-deserving shows, and audiences are still pretty mad. While we were worried about Dead To Me Season 2, the streamer finally gave us the green flag. The renewal was ordered within a month of the show’s debut. The leading ladies gave us the news over social media posts back in June 2019.

Moreover, the installment soon went into production by September 2019. The cast members seemed to enjoy their time on set, especially our protagonists. Linda Cardellini took to her Instagram and gave us a picture from the first day on set. Jen and Judy held each other’s hands as they began reading the Dead To Me Season 2 scripts. On the other hand, writer Liz Feldman shared some exciting pictures as they filmed the upcoming season this month.
Did Jen Actually Kill Steve?
The debut season of Netflix’s colorful dark comedy ended on a crazy cliffhanger. The season finale concludes with Jen holding a gun besides Judy’s ex-fiancé, Steve’s dead body. However, some fans theorize that she may actually not be the actual killer. In fact, Feldman almost confirms the same as she doubts Jen to be the murderer as well. While we didn’t see the character actually firing the gun, it’s fair to have questions. Although we may have to wait until the second round to know the actual truth.
While some fans are wondering if Jen’s the killer, others aren’t sure if Steve is actually dead. A recent picture spots actor James Marsden, who plays the character, on the set of Dead To Me Season 2. The photograph features him alongside Christina Applegate, apparently filming for the upcoming season. However, there are chances that he may briefly return for flashbacks.
New Cast Additions
Dead To Me Season 2 adds one of Santa Clarita Diet’s alum to the cast. Actress Natalie Morales is now a recurring member of the upcoming installment. Her character Michelle is described to be as wry and down-to-earth, with a relaxed charm and infectious wit. In Season 2, fans will see her connect to Judy at the Assisted Living Facility. However, this new cast addition may bring in much drama in the second round. Her connection with Judy may hinder the lead pair’s relationship.
Netflix also adds a few other characters to the plot. One of the major ones includes Michole White set to play the new character, Teri. The actress is previously seen in shows like Encino man and Volcano.
When Will Dead To Me Season 2 Return?
Like most of Netflix’s popular shows, Dead To Me is likely to have an annual release pattern as well. The streamer is still quiet about the Season 2 premiere. However, the early production schedule hints that the series may return around Spring 2020 or even earlier.
