Chicago PD Season 7 is just mere weeks away, and fans of the beloved Chicago drama are wondering what will happen in the upcoming season. NBC renewed the show for its seventh season in February 2019. And since then so many rumors and speculations about the forthcoming season are surfacing.
Created by Dick Wolf and Matt Olmstead, the Chicago franchise delve the audience into the professional, as well as the personal lives of firefighters, police officials, legal professionals, and also medical people working hard in Chicago. Debuted with Chicago Fire, in 2012, the franchise gave another series, Chicago PD in 2014.
Chicago PD focuses on uniformed patrol officers and the Intelligence Unit of the 21st District belonging to the Chicago Police Departement. It features how the team deals with criminals working behind major street crimes of the city.
Michael Beach In Chicago PD Season 7
This season, the audience will see quite some new faces influencing the Chicago. One of the big names is Michael Beach (The 100). Michael will join the series as Darius Walker, a crime leader of Chicago working for the welfare of African-American Community. Showrunner Rick Eid also discussed the character in an interview with TVLine.
As he stated, Darius is a businessman, drug dealer, and also a philanthropist, and he’s good at all of them, and he takes all of them seriously. Not just this, he is a guy who uses his profits from his drug business to funnel back into urban communities and help innovative and ambitious young entrepreneurs, Rick added.
Earlier, news came in that Paul Adelstein (Prison Break, Private Practice) has joined the series as interim superintendent Jason Crawford. Also, Lisseth Chavez (The Fosters) will feature in the seventh season as undercover cop Vanessa Rojas. Meanwhile, Jon Seda, who played Detective Antonio Dawson is not going to return as a series regular in the upcoming season.
Chicago PD Season 7: Might Promote Some Officials
The audience knows that the Intelligence Unit members are not equal in rank. Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati), Kevin Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins) and Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) are still officers, even though they’ve all stared up.
However, Rick also expressed the possibility of their promotions. According to him, Burgess, Atwater, and Ruzek might get promoted in Chicago PD Season 7. The show also conducts detective exams each season. And there are some chances that any of the three will become detectives.
Something Between Upton and Halstead
The two has come along a long way. And as per rumors speculating, the upcoming season will likely grow some love beans between the two. Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) and Hailey Upton (by Tracy Spiridakos) has been working together as partners since two seasons with full coordination. And it seems like its time to level up the relationship status of the two.

The audience will see a hell lot of Chicago drama on Wednesdays soon. Chicago PD Season 7 will release on September 25, 2019, on NBC. The show is slated for 10 pm, after Chicago Med (at 8 pm) and Chicago Fire (at 9 pm).
