Bohemian Rhapsody 2: Last year, in 2019, Bohemian Rhapsody released. The movie was Freddie Mercury’s biopic. Bohemian Rhapsody was a hit and earned around $900 million worldwide. The film won the most number of Oscars than any other film at the 2019 Oscars. However, Bohemian Rhapsody bagged mixed reviews from the critics. But, this film has had a big success. More than that, it has created a new generation of Queen fans all around the world. These fans are asking about the possibility of Bohemian Rhapsody 2. Will it happen? Will it not? Recently Brian May dropped some hints. Here is all about it
Is Bohemian Rhapsody 2 Happening?
Recently in an interview Brian May the guitarist at Queen and also the person who served as a consultant on the movie Bohemian Rhapsody along with drummer Roger Taylor has talked about the sequel. The 72-year old says to the readers that they shouldn’t think that they haven’t thought about the sequel. They have talked about it, but they do not believe they want it at the moment. It is possible that things might change in the future, but it will be very difficult, he added.
Why Is It Not Happening?
May said that it wouldn’t be very uplifting if they focused on Freddie’s final years. He was dying then. With that said, May gave everyone a hope saying that a sequel isn’t impossible. The final years were a great story, but they just don’t want to tell that at the moment. May also revealed that there were millions of things in their career that they couldn’t show in the movie. The movie, in fact, was very simplified to make it worth watching.
Then, May continued to say that they don’t think they will make another movie with that. He called it the long and the short of life. May also suggested that they should look at other places. He revealed that they have other ideas, but he doesn’t think a sequel will happen, but, they have looked at it very seriously.
The Queen legend sounds really adamant about his opinion that Bohemian Rhapsody isn’t happening. However, he also mentioned that there is a possibility that things could change. Certainly, keeping in mind the whole coronavirus pandemic that really has put everything on a standstill, it wouldn’t be very nice to make something so sad at this moment, May says. Maybe in a few years, things would change, and something could come together with Rami Malek who played Freddie, and he could reprise? Of course, a prequel could be possible too, the singer’s childhood hasn’t been explored yet. The Bohemian Rhapsody did not touch that childhood. So, if there is anything that is coming up with the film, we will update this space with any information as it comes So, you keep checking it.
