The House of Cards Alum Corey Stoll and Good Wife star Julianna Margulies are joining the cast of upcoming Billions Season 5, the network announced on Tuesday. Margulies, last seen in Nat Geo’s The Hot Zone miniseries, will play Ivy League sociology professor and bestselling author Catherine Brant.
While Stoll, who is coming off of an arc on The Deuce‘s final season, will star as small-town business titan Michael Prince. Back in June, Billions wrapped up Season 4 with a backstabbing, twist-filled finale that took rivals-turned-allies Chuck and Axe and pitted them against each other once again. The difference this time around is that they are moving in silence, and Taylor sends in the mix.
Road So Far
Stoll (House of Cards, The Strain) will have a season-long arc as a character named Michael Prince, a business titan with roots in small-town Indiana. Margulies (The Good Wife, ER) will recur as Catherine Brant, an Ivy League sociology professor, and best-selling author.
Season four of Billions found former enemies Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamatti) and Bobby Axelrod (Damian Lewis) forming a tenuous but effective alliance along with Wendy Rhoades (Maggie Siff). The chief counselor to both men is planning to take out their familiar rivals.
The plan includes Grigor Andolov (John Malkovich), Taylor Mason (Asia Kate Dillon) Bryan Connerty (Toby Leonard Moore), and Jock Jeffcoat (Clancy Brown). The show averaged 4.5 million viewers across all platforms last season.
