The last we saw of Alexa and Katie was released on June 13, 2020. And ever since the series released, fans had been wondering if we would get more of it. The show received critical acclamation bagging 100% rotten tomatoes and a 7.5 on ten IMDB rating. The show also received Emmy nominations for tackling quite sensitive topics quite nicely.
While with all these great reviews, we feel really sad to tell all the viewers that Alexa and Katie Season 5 wouldn’t happen. Back in 2019, Netflix had announced the third season, which was later on divided into two parts—making it season three and four. While renewing the third season, the creators also announced that it would be the last season, revealing that Alexa and Katie Season 5 wouldn’t ever happen.

The last installment of the series focused on the final series of junior and senior year for the teens on the show. The installment saw Alexa and Katie as they go through their final year of the second school, which in America is about four years after that, students go off to college.
In the third season of Alexa and Katie saw Alexa as she tried to leave cancer behind her. However, she found it all very tricky to navigate after going through a lot of hardship. In the meantime, Katie was also struggling as they both were looking forward to the college coming up. However, Alexa and Katie’s friendship helped them to work through the last year of their school as they tackle new challenges.

Created by Heather Wordham, Alexa, and Katie, who worked on Hannah Montana earlier, the show sees Tiffani Thiessen, Emery Kelly, Eddie Shin, Jolie Jenkins, and Finn Carr. Matthew Carlson of Malcolm acted as the showrunner for Alexa and Katie. When the show was canceled, the showrunner took on to her social media to say that the final season was a loving tribute to all the fans.
Would Alexa and Katie Season 5 Ever Happen?
Given that the fourth season of Alexa and Katie bagged great reviews and viewership, it looks like the end of Alexa and Katie was more of a creative decision. So, it is very much possible that down the line, the creators might get a new idea, and they would come back with more of the show.
