The Young and The Restless recap reveals that Monday’s episode of the CBS soap was full of family drama and action. This episode was about some of the closest friendships and relationships struggling to keep their bond strong. First, Abby is upset and frustrated by Devon’s conversation with her.
While Abby talks to Devon, Chance, and Amanda also discuss at Crimson Lights. Viewers also saw Lily and Billy start working together. Next, Adam and Victoria had a heated confrontation along with Ashland. The January 17, 2022 episode also witnessed Victor having doubts about his Son-in-Law. What are his doubts? The Young And The Restless: Abby Is Upset With Devon
Starting off Monday’s episode were Abby and Devon arguing the Chancellor Mansion. As Y&R fans know that Devon is ready to take Abby and Chance to court for the custody battle of Dominic. Abby wondered how Devon could do something so bad and hurt Abby in the process. She told him that they were supposed to be friends. To this, Devon says that Abby didn’t leave him any choice, and this is his last resort.
Devon also adds that pursuing this legally is his last option. After this, Abby tells Devon that she wants to speak to him alone about all this mess. While Abby and Devon speak, Chance and Amanda head out for a coffee. Chance insists that he wants to talk to Amanda as Devon’s partner and not his lawyer. So, Chance tries to find where Devon is headed and what he exactly wants.
In the meantime, Abby is alone with Devon, and she defends herself and tells Devon that she believes that all of this is happening because she went to Spain. She also highlights that she left Dominic with Devon because she went to Spain to look for her presumably dead husband. Devon agrees that he grew close to Dominic while Abby was away, but the shared custody is not because of the trip.
Tv Seasons & Spoilers earlier reported that Devon is concerned about Chance’s mental health. Devon is not questioning Abby but Chance. He talks to Abby about Chance’s psychological state and how that might affect Dominic. Devon argues that Dominic needs a father figure at this age, and he wants to be there for him. As a result of Devon’s comment, Abby calls him out on seeing himself as Dominic’s father. Listening to all of this, Abby declares that she cannot process any of this right now.
Abby’s arguments hurt Devon, and he feels that Abby doesn’t see him as a father figure to the baby. To this, Devon reminds Abby that she left Dominic with him when she left for Spain. He asks her if she still trusted him or not? Abby clarified that she still trusts Devon as the godfather, uncle, and all other roles that they agreed upon but not as a father.
Abby gets upset about why Devon is bringing up the donor agreement. She wouldn’t understand why Devon is doing all of this when Dominic already has a father named Chance. To this, Devon objects and says that he is not trying to be a threat and is thinking about whatever is best for Dominic. But, Abby insists that her family is working on the healing process.
As a result, Devon tells her that it is the baby’s job to heal Chance, and Abby adds that Devon is twisting her words. Towards the end of their conversation, Devon makes it clear that he isn’t backing down. Abby tells Devon that he is not really putting Dom’s happiness first. She insists, “You’re doing what’s best for you. And now I’m brokenhearted,”.
Chance And Amanda’s Discussion
While Devon and Abby argue, Chance admits to Amanda that he understands where Devon is coming from. Chance regrets opening up to Devon about his mental health. He worries that he has put the whole agreement in a problem. Chance wants Dominic to have a loving childhood. He also wants Devon to be involved in the baby’s life as much as possible. Amanda won’t say anything to this, so Chance will understand that this is all that they want.
In the same conversation, Amanda clarifies that Devon doesn’t want full custody. Instead, he is looking to be a legal guardian to the baby so that he can have Dominic sometimes to himself. She adds that it is normal for Devon to ask for this much as he has stepped up for Dominic many times in the past. After this discussion, Amanda and Chance head back to the Chancellor mansion. But, unfortunately, they could still sense the tension and arguments in the room.
Devon apologizes and thanks Abby for listening to him. After Devon leaves, Abby tells Chance that they need to call Christine Williams. Abby asks Chance if he thinks that Devon has the right to do this? Amanda feels bad for Chance and Abby a bit, but she then takes a professional stand to advise Devon. She tells Devon the main point is to convince the judge of what’s best for the child. She adds that they have to put Chance on trial because then they’ll best shot at getting the shared custody.
The Young And The Restless: Lily And Billy Working Together
On the other end of the town, Lily comes to know that Billy is back from Chicago. Billy then confirms that everything went well with Jill, so now he is ready to be Lily’s COO. Lily then admits that she might have told Ashland and Adam the truth about Billy’s COO news. Now, Lily is eager to tell the whole Genoa city with a press release. So, they work this out.
Adam And Victoria’s Confrontation
Speaking of Adam and Ashland, Adam goes and sits at Victoria’s table at the coffeehouse. Adam assumes that she is planning something against him and tells her that her plan of turning Victor against him didn’t work. He acts like Victoria’s step is bringing him and Victor closer.
Victoria warns him that their father may not always have his back. But then, Adam gets up to leave and suggests Victoria not be overconfident because Victor might not have her back or Ashland’s either. Victoria doesn’t take Adam’s warning seriously and is full of confidence. She thinks that she has created doubts for Victor about Adam. So, Ashland feels more sure, and he tells Victoria that they make a great team.
The Young And The Restless: Victor Speaks To Michael
Rounding off Monday’s episode was Michael Baldwin coming to the Ranch to talk about Victor’s job offer. Victor tells him about making some changes in his company. He admits that Adam is being a little immature and he believes that he might not be able to handle his position at Newman Media. Michael doesn’t want to get caught in a Newman war, but Victor promises that he won’t do anything of such.
Victor tells him that he will respect that Michael cannot be available at all times. However, he wants Michael to guide him through some difficulties. Victor was having doubts about Ashland. He tells Michael that there is something wrong with Ashland having built Newman-Locke.
Furthermore, Victor also adds that he has doubts about Ashland’s recovery. He feels that he might regret the collaboration if Ashland makes a miraculous recovery. Victor wants Michael to be on his side through this battle. Would Michael help Victor on The Young And The Restless?
