Jamieson bid farewell to the long-running series after her character, Amy Wyatt, tragically lost her life in a dramatic limousine accident. It’s An Emotional Goodbye On Emmerdale
Earlier this year, ITV confirmed that both Emmerdale and Coronation Street will undergo a significant format change in 2026. The new schedule will see both soaps airing half-hour episodes five days a week, reducing their overall weekly runtime. Sharing her thoughts with The Mirror, Jamieson admitted she was puzzled by the decision to cut back on such popular programming.
“I don’t really get why something so successful is facing reductions, but at the same time, shorter episodes feel like a return to how things used to be. That’s what I remember from when I was younger—so in a way, it’s not really a cutback, just a shift back to tradition.”
Following her six-year stint as Amy, Jamieson took to Instagram to express her gratitude and reflect on her time in the soap.”Goodbye Amy
