It looks like it is goodbye season on EastEnders. Every second day news is surfacing about one or the other major character exiting the BBC One soap. Previously, TV Season & Spoilers reported the upcoming exits of Brian Conley (Rocky), Lorraine Stanley (Karen) and Shona McGarthy (Whitney). Now, the latest news reports are hinting that yet another key character is on the verge of leaving Walford in the rear view mirror. It is none other that Sharon Watts, portrayed by actress Letitia Dean.
Currently, on EastEnders, Sharon and Keanu are at odds after their recent break-up. When the latter found out about Sharon’s involvement in Lisa taking Peggy away, he broke off their engagement. Now, the two have settled on being just co-parents to their young son Albie. However, a new twist in their tale has arisen. Impressed by Sharon’s skills, Dorain has offered her a fantastic job opportunity in a new gym at Abu Dhabi. The offer is so enticing that it is becoming hard for Sharon to decline it.
Actress Letitia Dean told the media that her character, Sharon, is still very much in love with Keanu. However, at the moment, she can’t see a way to move forward with him. Moreover, the lucrative job offer will provide a stable financial future for her son, Albie. That sort of security is hard to decline. Moreover, after her break-up, she feels that her life in Walford is in shambles. And a new start somewhere else could bring in some hope and light in her life, which feels rather dim right now.
Despite the fact that she loves Keanu, Letita feels that Sharon needs a break on EastEnders from this roller coaster. They keep running in circles. Moreover, in the recent episodes, Keanu once again proved that she can’t trust him with Albie. It is not like he doesn’t love him. He does, but he also is reckless and irresponsible. After he pulled a disappearing act by taking Albie out without informing Sharon, she has become fearful. Thus, taking her son away to Abu Dhabi and keep him safe from all the madness with Keanu and Karen is really tempting right now.
So does that mean Sharon will accept Dorain’s job offer in Abu Dhabi? Considering how Sharon’s track is currently progressing on EastEnders, it seems very likely. However, will she really leave Walford and go away forever is yet to be seen. What do you think? Tell us in the comments. Meanwhile, stay tuned to TV Season & Spoilers for more EastEnders updates on Sharon’s ultimate decision.
