He will have to cover for Nicole as she accuses her of Deimos Kiriakis’ murder. It indeed is difficult to see how Eric would land into the legal hot water as Nicole was behind all of it. Sami does not have proof of Deimos’ murder. In fact, this murder wasn’t even murder. Nicole was under the influence of the drugs Deimos gave her and all other party attenders, so, he himself was the reason for his demise. Even after all of this, it is possible that Sami would use this as the bombshell in the custody hearing, and this will indeed have consequences. Maybe a piece of new evidence would surface? Maybe Eric will take Nicole’s fall and go back to prison? It is perhaps possible.
