Days of Our Lives, Alum Mike Manning, who played the character of Charlie Dale on the soap opera, recently won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Performance by Supporting Actor in a Daytime Fiction Program. He won this for his character of Caleb McKinnon on “The Bay.” While the Actor was on the ninth cloud after this win, he also revealed some exciting information. Mike Manning announced that he is now got married.
In his acceptance speech, Manning thanked a lot of people, including Emmy voters, the academy, his parents, extended family, and of course his TV family. He thanked his grandparents, who had shown him that he could be anything he wanted to be. He appreciated them for taking care of the high-strung ADD kid that he was. After that, he thanked his husband, Nick.
After leaving the Emmy stage, Manning spoke to Soap Opera Digest, where he stated that he had never thought he would get married. Manning said that while growing up, he didn’t think that he would get married and kind of accepted that. But now, he is married to his best friend. Manning pointed out that marrying his best friend in front of the whole family and friends was amazing. Mike is the oldest child in their family, so his was the first wedding in the family. It was a very special and important occasion indeed.
Mike did not add any further details about his husband, but he made it clear that he isn’t in the same business. Manning revealed that his husband works in finance and hates attention. So, it is very different from the acting business. However, he is a very supportive person. So, Mike feels really lucky. This is indeed a pleasant surprise.
