This Easter was indeed the one for the books for all the royal sympathisers out there! King Charles III showed up with Queen Camilla and the rest of the family for an Easter service at Windsor Castle on Sunday. It marks the Monarch’s biggest public outing following his cancer diagnosis. His Majesty looked so happy when he breezed into George’s Chapel for a service expected to last for about an hour.
King Charles III Makes His Grand Return on Easter!
King Charles III gave a cheerful wave to the folks watching him entering the vintage building. Someone yelled out, “Happy Easter,” and Charles shot back with a “And to you.” Anyway, the service was a bit smaller than usual because the Princess of Wales is also undergoing cancer treatment. She has put her public duties on hold, prompting her, William, and the kids to remain MIA from the service.
Moreover, seeing King Charles III out and about must have calmed the citizens down a bit. Charles distanced himself from public duties back in February when Buckingham Palace broke the devastating news of his terminal disease. However, the Monarch has been keeping up with his state duties, like going through paperwork and catching up with the Prime Minister.
But turning up at a classic Royal shindig like the Easter service screams hope! It shows that King Charles is slowly making his way back into the public eye. Additionally, the English media suggests that he’ll be ramping up his public outings post-Easter. Even if being a royal seems like a breeze with all the fancy ceremonies, it can actually be pretty exhausting.
Apart from the fancy parades, the King has to hobnob with political leaders and attend events celebrating citizens’ achievements. Mind you, Charles racked up 161 days of royal duties during his first year on the throne. So, it’s not just glitz and glamour in royal life, folks.
