Teen Mom 2 star Leah Messer has been candid about her addiction. In tune with that, she further gave more details about the time she tried heroin. In one of her recent interviews, Leah dished out sneaky details of her life when she was struggling with meds. The fans must note that she first appeared in the MTV show 16 & Pregnant when she was pregnant with her twin daughters. However, after the birth of her third daughter, she began to feel the pressure and things went downhill. Let’s have a look.
Teen Mom 2: Leah Got Candid About Drug Addition, Reveals Consuming Heroin
In the latest interview with the Knockin’ Doorz Down podcast by KDD Media, Leah got candid about her struggle with drug addiction. She shared that she went on to try drugs when she couldn’t get the pills. She also revealed how her father was already addicted to prescription pills, and she didn’t want to be the same. However, she fell into the trap and was heavily addicted to the meds.
How Did Leah Got In Touch With Heroin?
According to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, Leah revealed the first time she tried heroin. The mother of three spoke about not feeling anything after consuming the thing. She explained that it was probably some ‘divine intervention’ that she found heroin when she couldn’t get her hands on pain medication. Although she believed that she’d be able to ‘avoid’ it, it didn’t happen so. She got addicted, so much so that it resulted in her becoming suicidal. It didn’t end there. Messer got into buying opioids on the streets and indulging in some illegal activities. Clearly, things went spiraling down for her.
Teen Mom 2 Producers Helped Leah In Getting Over Her Addiction
Leah shared how the Teen Mom 2 producers helped her in dire times. Referring to producer Larry Musnik as her biggest support system, she revealed her going to Arizona in rehab. She further added how she was stuck in an ugly custody battle with ex Corey and was on the verge of sling her children to her addiction. However, the producers motivated her to get the help she deserved and go to rehab. Well, that one step changed Messer’s life for the better.
Apart from sharing her ordeal in her book Hope, Grace & Faith, Leah shared about her experience in an interview with People this August. Reflecting back on her time, Messer said she felt like a zombie. The pill abuse made her worse and she was barely surviving. However, now things look brighter, and we hope Leah continues to live with that.
