The Sister Wives cast is one messed up family. Well, while things started off well back in the day, this polygamous situation doesn’t seem to be working that well for them anymore. This is because Kody Brown now has a favorite wife amongst his four spouses. At this point, even a new viewer would know that the TLC patriarch is only actually “married” to his fourth and youngest bride Robyn. Yet, despite all the problems and significant favoritism, the rest of the members are ready to stay in the marriage with Kody. Hence, they’ve all been trying to move into a better living situation.
The Brown family recently bought an expensive piece of land on Coyote Pass in Flagstaff, Arizona. Moreover, they plan to move there soon as soon as the construction completes. So how much does land does each wife own on the property? Is everyone getting an equal share? Here’s all you need to know.
Sister Wives: All About The Coyote Pass Property
The Brown family initially lived, and peacefully enough, in their Utah single home. However, this fairly peaceful situation was changed as they had to leave their hometown. This is because the State of Utah filed a criminal case against them for being in a polygamous relationship, which is illegal in the state. Later on, the family lived in Las Vegas for years until they decided to move to Flagstaff, Arizona, because of Robyn. It has only been a couple of years since they move to Flagstaff and have already bought another piece of land, which will likely be their ‘forever’ house[s] situation.
Well, Kody bought nearly 12 to 14 acres of land on Coyote Pass. All five members of the family contributed a total of $820,000 together. However, there were many complications as the spouses fought while selecting their portion of the property. Previously, Kody came up with the idea that they’d build a single house on the land. However, this plan was soon thrown away as not all of the Sister Wives were comfortable. Hence, they decided to build separate houses. Now, the land for each of these separate houses will be divided, but not into equal parts. Here’s why.
How Much Land Does Each of the Sister Wives Own?
Well, a lot of people would think that since it’s a plural marriage, every wife should own an equal amount of land. However, things don’t work that way because they also have to chip in the land’s cost and construction. While Robyn and Christine seem to have enough funds to do that, it doesn’t look like Janelle and Meri would be able to do that. Well, it’s quite evident as only the youngest two currently live in their own houses. Whereas, both Janelle and Meri live in rental homes even though they are expensive ones. Hence, when it comes to Coyote Pass, Janelle and Robyn both have larger portions, while the other wives have smaller ones.
While it was previously said that Kody would have his own house at the Coyote Pass property, that plan is thrown out of the window. The land will be distributed only into four parts now. As per Starcasm, there will be two 2.42 acres parcels, whereas the other ones will be larger, being 4.48 acres and 5.16 acres. Kody will be a co-owner in all of these portions. But, the ownerships of some of the portions will also be shared by two wives. To be precise, one of the 2.42-acre lands will be shared between Kody and Robyn, while the other one will have Kody and Janelle as the owners.
Which Wife Will Have The Largest Portion On Coyote Pass?
On the other hand, the third parcel, which is 4.48 acres, will be co-owned by Janelle and Meri, along with their husband, Kody. Whereas, the biggest piece will have Kody, Robyn, and Christine as the co-owners. Hence, according to calculations by Starcasm, Robyn will have the largest share of the land. She owns almost 35% of the area with a total of five acres. Next comes Janelle has the second-largest share of near 32% of the property, with around 4.5 acres. Even though Christine, had her own house, but still has a smaller portion of 18% with only 2.5 acres. At last, we have Meri, who, as expected, has the smallest portion. She only has a 15% ownership of the property amongst the four wives with just 2.2 acres.
Hence, Robyn takes the upper hand in the plural marriage dynamic again. Well, she already owns the biggest part of Kody’s heart. Now, the youngest wife also has the biggest portion on the Coyote Pass property. Besides, it is expected that she might as well have the biggest house. While there are no exact reports on this, the Sister Wives family will soon move to Coyote Pass. We might see how things turn out to be in the upcoming season of the TLC show.
