My 600 LB Life: Tammy Patton Feels Trapped In Her Body
41-year-old Tammy has a food addiction. She can not stay away from it. The food is included in everything happening around the world, whether it be marriage, funeral, birthdays, and various other parties. And it’s really hard for the addicted ones to avoid because it’s present all around you. Tammy is hovering around 600 pounds. She says, “At this point, my food addiction is leading me to get worse by the day because I can not stop going to it for the comfort I need, that happiness it brings.” Moreover, Tammy is left with nothing other than food to make her feel happy. Although, this addiction has also brought much pain in her life.
The mother of two daughters says, “Every day I wake up desperate for change.” She further explains, “because being the size I am and carrying around this much weight, my body is in constant pain because of the strain I have on it. And every day, it gets worse. Because every day something new hurts.” Each part of Tammy’s body has a strain on it because of the excessive pressure. Tammy says, “I just feel like I’m trapped in this body.” And because of that, she is no more able to do what she wants. Tammy has to do all that her body allows.
41-Year-Old Thinks Herself To Be A ‘Burden’
Tammy Patton has two daughters, Alize, 19, and Serenity, 21. Instead of taking care of her daughters, Tammy herself needs the care. She relies on her family for constant care. Tammy can not move around frequently because of her heavy body. Therefore, she gets restricted from doing basic activities. Tammy wants to take care of her daughter’s baby. However, she can not do so because of her weight issues.
She says, “There is so much of the world that I have yet to see. But, instead of being out in the world, I’m trapped here as a burden to my family. They say I’m not, but I feel like it.” Tammy has no other choice than to depend on her family. She feels as if she is constantly bringing problems, even though her daughters don’t feel the same. Tammy’s mother also moved to help her out from the situation.
