Coliesa had her second baby when she was 23 years old. Back then, she weighed 400 pounds. She had her third child when she was 25 and her weight escalated up to 460 pounds. Coliesa was 500 pounds till the age of 29 when she had her fourth child. When she was 30 years old, her husband got arrested and she went to Louisiana with the kids to get away from him.
Coliesa met her fiance when she was 31. For a while, her life got better when she moved in with him along with the kids. But after reaching the age of 39, she had a heart attack. The hospital staff wasn’t able to perform surgery on her because of her size. So, from that point on, Coliesa knew that if she doesn’t lose weight, she might not be able to get out alive if she has another heart attack.
She couldn’t lose weight after that either. Unfortunately, her fiance passed away in a car accident and the tragedy devastated her. So, she ate through her pain to not let the tragedy make her fall apart. Now, she spends the majority of her time in bed.

With a lot of sadness in her voice, Colisa said that her life is not worth living. She feels like her weight is weighing her down and her heart can give up any time. She had an epiphany and was ready to consult Dr. Now to try and get her life back on track.
When she sat in the car, about 20 minutes later, Coliesa started to search for her pain meds and she couldn’t find them. She was about to flip out but before that could happen, they all started to look for her medicines.
She let someone else pack her purse and her medicines got left out. Everyone was flipping out. But Coliesa was adamant about not moving forward without her medicine.
My 600 Lb Life: Update On Coliesa’s Weight Loss Journey
After her follow up with Dr. Now, it turned out that she wasn’t able to half the weight required to get approved for surgery. But after she went into therapy, she started to make progress. Even though she still didn’t manage to lose as much weight as Dr. Now asked her to, they approved her for bariatric surgery.
Now, she has lost about 150 pounds and is optimistic about the future. The mom of four feels prettier and is excited to see what life holds for her and her children.
