Little People Big World fame Tori and Zach’s son Jackson is just like his father. But the parents of the 4-year-old boy are worried about his legs. Tori recently took Jackson to the doctor to know about his leg’s condition. Will he need any major surgery? And while Tori was out with Jackson, Zach baby-sited Lilah. Let us take a look at what doctors said about Jackson’s condition.
Little People Big World: Jackson Legs Are Bowing
Tori and Zach’s children Jackson and Lilah, are dwarfs same as their father. The couple witnessed something odd about Jackson’s leg these days. And they consulted a doctor to know about Jackson’s situation in detail. The couple knew that their 4-year-old boy will need leg surgery at some point in his life. However, they needed to confirm whether that point has arrived or not. Indeed, Tori took her son to the doctor while Zack baby-sited little Lilah.
TLC recently released a sneak peek of the coming episode. In the sneak peek, Zach said, “I’m watching Lilah while Tori brings Jackson to his leg appointment, very curious to see is it like severe or not, is this normal or not.” The father of two then called his wife to get the update. Tori then explained to Zach that the doctors said that the legs are definitely bowing. She quoted, “It’s just I think now a matter of do we do it now or do we wait?” Tori then cut the call as she went to meet the doctor for the x-rays.
Little People Big World: Is Jackson’s Legs In Severe Condition?
As soon as Tori reached home, she had a talk with her husband about Jackson’s condition. The star also showed x-ray photos to her husband. Jackson’s leg is undoubtedly bowing like any other dwarf. But is it serious? The 4-year-old’s bowing is coming from his ankle. Tori explained, “The doctor says his legs are an issue, but it’s not an emergency.” Although, Jackson’s case is not tricky because his knees are straight, unlike Zach’s. However, his ankle is the main area that is rounded and might bring problems in the future. Hopefully, the doctors will have to deal with his one spot rather than two.
Therefore, the 4-year-old needs to have surgery. Tori thinks that her son has good condition and is probably a good candidate for scraping the growth plate. Indeed, Jackson will not have to face any major surgery. Scraping the growth plate was the same procedure that Zach had to go through as a child. He explained, “The growth plate is some tissue at the top of the bone; by scarping it, you’re slowing bone growth.”
Scraping the growth plate is still a big surgery for Jackson. However, it’s less painful than breaking the bones. In the latter option, the doctor will break the bone and then make it straight. In that procedure, the patient needs more than usual time to heal in this process. Jackson will have to be in a wheelchair for two months and then have to learn walking from the start if the parents choose the ‘breaking the bone’ option. This whole situation is definitely heartbreaking for Tori and Zach. But Zach somewhere knew they will reach this point someday. So, let’s wait to see which option the couple chooses.
