And now, The Sun reported that TLC has canceled the show. An insider also informed that the decision was made by the platform earlier this week. And the family was informed about the news over a phone call.
The insider claims, “The petition from those who boycotted Counting On was hard to ignore.” That was the reason why the sponsors chose to drop the plan of making more seasons. Canceling the show was not an easy task even for the platform to do. The network has already spent tons of money on filming. So, letting go of the show was hard. However, the makers were left with no other option other than to cancel.
Counting On: TLC Wants To be On the Right Side Of The Josh’s Scandal
After all the Josh Duggar drama, it looks like TLC doesn’t want to drop its reputation for Josh Duggar. The network needs to maintain the same repo because it has many other shows to run as well. The insider said, “The network really wants to be on the right side of this scandal ahead of Josh’s trial.” However, the cancelation of the show came as a shame to the ones who put their enormous effort in the making. Although TLC has not yet officially announced the cancelation on social platforms. There have been a lot of events in the Duggar family ever since the last release of the show in 2020.
