It seems that Josh Duggar, from Counting On family, is not the only one to be under a legal cloud. The other one who has fallen into the same is Joy-Anna Duggar’s husband, Austin Forsyth. Austin was sued back in 2019 for fraud and negligence. He will also have to take a stand and testify for the same. Let us take below a close look at what actually happened.
Counting On: Austin Forsyth Sued For Fraud And Negligence
Joy-Anna Duggar’s husband Austin was sued for fraud and negligence in 2019. Back then, he was claimed not to have proper permits for the house he renovated and sold. As per The Sun, the homeowners sued Austin for the same. They also provided the witness list for the court to take a look at in the trial. Moreover, Austin is also on the witness list. He will be called out to the stand and will be questioned as the trial begins. The other ones in the witness lists are Plaintiffs and experts.
The evidence which has to be present while the trial goes on is the real estate contract between Austin and the homeowners, the septic system, and other contracts. And the court trial will take place via Zoom. Indeed, Austin’s case may also take place through the same. The jury trial is to take place on May 25, 2021. It seems the trial will not take much time and will probably end in one day. Let us wait to see how Joy-Anna will manage her husband’s trial while her brother is also on the way to the same.
Counting On: Homeowners Alleges Austin For Unsanitary And Disgusting Septic System
The new homeowners have come forward to claim all that they have been suffering for too long. The family moved into a $140,000 Arkansas house in 2018. But they soon noticed a foul smell emerging from their yard. It led them to face many problems. The owners’ dog fell ill after drinking water from the same yard.
They soon realized that there is something wrong with the septic system. The house owners described the situation as “unsanitary and downright disgusting.” Meanwhile, the documents received by the homeowners from Austin before buying the house do not claim any proper permits. Although Austin confirmed at the final deal that he has all the permits and permissions for the house. Therefore, the house’s new owners were left with no other option than the sue Austin for his false statement.
The new septic system will cost $20,000, and Austin will have to pay for it if found guilty. Austin said to the owners before that they got all the work done on the house with the proper permit. But it seems otherwise. Counting On’s star then slammed back and denies the allegation. He asked the jury to deny the request. The judge also denied the homeowner’s request for partial summary judgment.
However, Austin is still not off the hook. He will have to be present in the trial and wait for the final hearing. On the other side, Josh Duggar waits for his trial to go on. He is charged with child abuse and receiving and possessing child pornography. If convicted, Josh will receive 20 years of imprisonment and a $250,000 fine on each count.
