Jessa shared a video clip on Instagram discussing her tryst with depression. The 27-year-old talked about how her journey as a Christian has been paved with challenges. The nagging donuts have led her to a dark place in life. Jessa further touched upon her faith during her late teens and early 20s. She said that she felt dissatisfied in her relationship with God. She wasn’t praying like she was supposed to and could see this goal of where she wanted to be in her relationship with the Lord.

Jessa continued saying that she was discouraged. She had plenty of doubts about her salvation making her restless. Jessa further explained that although she didn’t feel depressed at that time, now she thinks that she was in a bad state. She termed it as a ‘spiritual depression.’ This followed Jessa’s explanation of dealing with her depression. The reality TV star shared that letting go of unrealistic expectations helped her deal with the mess. She gave up reading the Bible every day or reading it only in a quiet place.

She shared that the book explores why people may get “discouraged in their Christian walk. Later, Jessa went on to speak about her personal challenges.

She shared how she didn’t have gospel rest or how she wasn’t resting in what Christ did for her. She continued with her previous belief of thanking Christ for his help and saving her. And she believed that she was supposed to go further on her own.

Jessa winded up by saying that she’s come a long way. However, there is a lot more to be done in life. Nothing can really separate us from Christ and we can rest in that. In life, Jessa said, we experience hardships, and yet we keep running after Christ. Nevertheless, Christ holds on to us. She hoped that people would rest in Christ.
