But this time, the show is featuring a girl named Ashley who not only battles a severe food addiction but a catfishing addiction too. Ashley transforms her profile and has resorted to catfishing so that she can meet people. She said that her intention was never to hurt anyone. However, she mentioned that if it was under her control, she would never have done it. Till now, this addiction of hers has caused a lot of people to be upset, especially her family.
Ashley also realizes that if she doesn’t change her food habits soon, it might kill her. She also wants a life where she can get married and have kids. In fact, her mom also wants the same things for her. Ashley describes her eating addiction as killing herself with each bite. Every day, she feels guilty.

My 600 Lb Life: Ashley Fears Her Mom Having To Bury Her
Ashley’s biggest fear is her mom having to bury her. According to the My 600 Lb Life alum, her mom won’t be able to recover from it. She has tried to lose weight before but Ashley always felt like no one is there to help her out. However, this time, she thinks it’s enough and she is seeking out Dr. Now’s help.
My 600 Lb Life: Ashley’s Conversation With a Mental Health Professional
In another clip, we can see Ashley talking to a mental health professional. She asks her whether she has a close family member with a mental illness to which Ashley says not to her knowledge.
After a couple of questions, the counselor came to the conclusion that Ashley as describing a psychotic break.

Her father rejected her and she got raped by her neighbor. Ashley was also afraid that her mom was going to die. When she gained weight, the kids bullied her in school. A little self-introspection will help her in gaining the necessary emotional depth to navigate her life better, her counselor said.
According to a My 600 Lb Life update, she weighed 469 pounds at her final appointment. Even though she still has to undergo a lot to attain her goal, that is, weight loss surgery. Her mother resides in a care facility as she has complications stemming from epilepsy. Her grandmother, who raised her passed away when she was 20.
