The recent episode of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After featured an awkward family gathering. The couple recently went for therapy to mend the differences in their relationship. As a result, they decided to invite their families together for a meal so that they could have a heart-to-heart conversation. But as expected the meeting didn’t go as smoothly as they might have initially thought. Let’s take a look at what went down.

Kalani had some trouble respecting Asuelu’s mother after the way she behaved when they first visited her. His family kept on insisting to give more and more money which didn’t go well with Kalani. When Asuelu picked his mother from the airport, she said that it was disrespectful of Kalani to not come along with him.
Asuelu Stood Up For Kalani In Front Of His Mother
When the subject of divorce came during the car ride, Asuelu made it clear to his mom that if she loves him, she would love Kalani as well. He also told her that he has no interest in getting stuck between their fights. Little did he know that it was exactly what he was about to get into as soon as the reunion took place.
During the meal, while Asuelu hoped for everyone to leave the past behind, Kalani wanted answers. Tammy said that Kalani should have known what she is getting into considering the background Asuelu is from. She still insisted on her brother to send money back home.
However, Kalani’s dad made it clear that if Asuelu didn’t stick up for his wife he wouldn’t be supporting him to be a part of the family. Lisa, Kalani’s mom chimed in and said that they shouldn’t be blaming her daughter for all the damage. Even her dad interrupted and said that the couple can’t send them all the money and let their children starve.

Asuelu made it very clear that he is going to work on his marriage with Kalani. Even though his mother didn’t like his decision, she ended up apologizing to her. However, his sister Tammy chose not to say sorry to her sister-in-law. In the confessional, she revealed what she really thinks about the couple. According to her, they should get a divorce as Kalani is not good for Asuelu.
