In the recent episode of season 5, Kalani and Asuele debate over the idea of visiting the latter’s homeland Samoa. Although Kalani considered and almost agreed, she changed her mind later. She backed off because of a deadly measles outbreak in Samoa, leaving her husband betrayed and angry. Asuele felt that it was perfectly okay to travel with the children. However, his wife and mother-in-law fired back and turned down his idea. Clearly, the struggling man of the house felt ganged up on.

In the sneak peek of the upcoming Sunday’s episode of TLC GO’s, the family is headed for a family vacation. After a heated exchange over the family’s move to Samoa, the family is now on their way to California. Kalani asks her husband if he finds her job easy. To this, Asuele replied that all the American women had got easy jobs. This found Kalani dropping her jaw.
As the trip continued, Kalani and Asuele argued over their parenting. Kalani said that she does everything while Asuele doesn’t lend a helping hand. The bitter man took a jab at her wife, saying that it is a woman’s job to take care of the children. Kalani called him a ‘liar’, and Asuele retorted with a ‘lying bitch.’ He further said that Kalani’s voice is ‘fucking annoying.’ The man was not stopping anywhere as he continued to tell his wife how easy her work was.

She commented: “It’s disrespectful to me, and I don’t like how you’re talking to my daughter.”

In an interview with TLC producers, Asuele negatively compared his wife to Samoan women. He expressed that American women do easy jobs because they have the technology. The TLC star further added that women in Samoa have to use their hands to do all the tasks while in America, things are ‘convenient.’ He bluntly remarked that “Kalani can’t do what mothers in Samoa do.”
