Without a doubt, TLC is one of the biggest names in the television fraternity right now. However, the network has also been involved in uncountable controversies due to a variety of reasons. Some of the biggest complaints against the company are related to the hiring of cast and crew members with serious criminal histories. Well, the recent Josh Duggar case is deemed by many as evidence of the network’s negligence. However, another name that has tarnished TLC’s image is Chris Cardamone.
The popular show Little People Big World has been running on the network for over one and a half decades. The 2006 series introduced the famous Roloff couple alongside four of their young children. Back then, the kids were exposed to a large production team that documented their lives. Not only did this create privacy issues for them, but one of the kids also experienced something very tragic. Recently, Matt and Amy Roloff’s youngest offspring, Jacob, revealed that he was a victim of molestation by one of the show’s producers. Here are all the details about the accused and the case.
Who Is Jacob Roloff’s Alleged Molester Chris Cardamone?
As the years passed, members of the Roloff family began to quit appearing on the show. Out of four Roloff kids, Jeremy, Jacob, and Molly have no relations to the television industry anymore. For long, fans of the show didn’t know about the reason why some of the stars had to quit. However, several years later, Jacob finally revealed the reason. In December 2020, the now-24-year-old man revealed that he had been molested as a child. He accused Little People Big World’s executive field producer, Christopher “Chris” Cardamone, of the crime. The announcement was heartbreaking for a lot of TLC viewers.
Chris Cardamone worked for TLC back in 2007 through 2010 as a senior producer. Born on May 30, 1976, the accused was around thirty years old back when the alleged incidents happened. Meanwhile, Jacob Roloff was merely 10 to 12 years old between the time Chris worked on the show. As the case came to light, the producer caught a lot of attention, so much so that he started to get death threats. Jacob has received a lot of support from her family, fans, and friends. He recently shared a post on social media talking about the incident nearly one year after his initial announcement.
He talked about how he thought that publishing his statement in 2020 was “a positive moment” for him. Moreover, it also seemed to be another step toward a brighter future. Jacob, who is now a father of a newborn, said he loved his son and his ever-supportive wife. Fans are glad that Jacob is in a better place and is living a happy life right now.
Did Chris Cardamone Get Arrested? Criminal History Revealed!
Back when the case came to light, TLC claimed that they only got to know about the incident when Jacob made the public revelation. The network gave an official statement to UsWeekly where they said, “We are saddened and troubled by this very serious allegation”. The statement continued, “TLC will work cooperatively with the authorities”. However, until then, Chris Cardamone had already worked for the network on a couple of projects. As of now, he hasn’t been hired by TLC again. However, fans will be surprised to know that the accused received no legal action against him even though the case became so popular.
TV Season & Spoilers exclusively reports that Jacob Roloff revealed why he couldn’t take any legal actions against his alleged molester. He said in a social media story, “it is extremely difficult to pursue any legal action because of a system built to make it that way”. Hence, he couldn’t file a legal case against Chris Cardamone. Jacob continued to say, “He won’t receive any repercussions except for perhaps socially from my post”. Roloff then added, “A cruel world and a joke of a legal system”. Fans were pretty sad to listen to this and offered more support for the young TV personality.
However, it’s surprising to know that Jacob’s case wasn’t the only one that Chris Cardamone was put under the eye for. Apparently, he was once arrested for the case of molestation with a minor. It’s currently unclear if the victim, in this case, was Jacob or not. Sadly, Cardamone only served 73 days in prison and four years of supervised probation.
