Coronation Street: Tracy Barlow Set To Take The Center Stage, A ‘Steamy Affair’ On The Cards
As Coronation Street approaches Christmas, a new steamy affair with a returning character is awaiting Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford). In the upcoming episodes of Coronation Street, Tracy hates the fact that she has to prepare dinner. To add to it, a joke about her and her husband Steve McDonald’s age difference triggers their relationship. Later, she bumps into a handsome former football star, Tommy Orpington. The character made his debut on Coronation Street in 2016 while he was last seen in 2021.
Back in November, Coronation Street producer Iain MacLeod hinted at his potential return. He revealed that he will be seen on Christmas Day. The show maker said, “He, since leaving football, has made some bad business investments, not the least of which was opening a Tommy Orpington-themed gourmet burger restaurant, which has been established on screen.” He even informed that he is now pursuing his old business, i.e., painter and decorator; also, his wife has left him. It means that he is now a single man.
Additionally, the Coronation Street boss teased a romance for Tommy in the Weatherfield. He mentioned, “He is now single, and there might be one of our female characters that needs some decorating done – not a euphemism.” Iain disclosed that Tommy’s storyline will basically revolve around a female character’s life. He quoted, “He will arrive into one of our female characters’ lives and upset the apple cart in fairly spectacular fashion, shall we say?” He concluded his words by saying that he wouldn’t say too much, but the mystery woman would be revealed quite early.
