The Young and the Restless: Recently, Sean Carrigan, who is back as Dr. Ben “Stitch” Rayburn, spoke to Soap Opera Digest and opened up about how he feels after coming back to The Young and the Restless sets. Carrigan first joined the soap back in 2013. However, he left sometime after that. But that doesn’t mean he never wanted to come back.

Speaking to Soap Opera Digest, Carrigan stated that he had imagined that Stitch would return to The Young and the Restless because the character was never killed off. So, Carrigan had in the back of his mind that this character would come back down the line. The actor reveals that he was pleasantly surprised when he came to know about this stint. He even revealed that he had gone to see his mother in Florida when he found out The Young and the Restless wanted him back. Carrigan says that his first response was that he was interested and the ball got rolling from there. Throughout the interview, the actor revealed many details. Keep reading to find out.

Carrigan Reveals He Got Nostalgic 

The actor revealed in the interview that as soon as he started getting Y&R’s scripts, he was reminded of the rhythm and pace of the daytime soap. He says that it is a fast-moving process, and many things have to be done at a rapid pace. He stated that you forget what challenges this medium brings, but it is all fun because it keeps one on their toes. Speaking about his experience, Carrigan said that he is thankful that all of it came back to him at the moment, and he was like, “Oh, yeah, this is what it’s like.” 

Carrigan also admitted that he was pretty nervous on his first day on The Young and the Restless sets. He revealed that he had butterflies. Stitch’s first scene this time around was in the coffeehouse. Carrigan was reminded that his first scene with Dylan was there, and he felt really nostalgic. It was an awesome and humbling feeling. He also felt honored to come back. The actor quoted that he had chills when the director was about to say ‘Action’ for his first scene. 

Sean Appreciated His Co-stars, Feels Like He Came Back To Family

In the interview, Sean opened up about how it was like to meet his co-stars once again. He stated that it didn’t take him long to settle in the comforting rhythm. It feels like a family on this show, the actor said. He added that there are many familiar faces from the cast and crew. And seeing everyone once again felt like he was going back to school after a summer break. Sean was a part of the show for three-and-a-half years. So, he had made great friends there. 

Carrigan met his co-stars Eric Braeden (Victor), Amelia Heinle (Victoria), Bryton James (Devon), Mishael Morgan (Amanda), and Jason Thompson (Billy). The actor was most excited to see his co-star Melissa Ordway who played his wife in his last stint. Praising Ordway, Sean said that she is like a breath of fresh air. And seeing her was wonderful as usual. He added that he and Melissa have mutual respect for each other, and they have a great working relationship. He also cherishes every moment he gets to work with her. 

The Young And The Restless: What’s Next?

Carrigan revealed that he would have to juggle between The Young and The Restless and a movie he recently signed. He will be starring in a movie called Grace Point that he is shooting in North Carolina. Speaking about it, he revealed that this is a psychological thriller where he is an antagonist. Luckily his dates for movie and soap worked out. So, he will be doing both for now.

Speaking of his stint on The Young and the Restless, he is in for a limited visit right now. But, Carrigan is open to the idea of a longer stay. He confessed that his most memorable work on TV has been The Young and the Restless, and he is happy to be here as long as they want. The actor quoted that to say that he is thrilled would be an understatement.
