It’s Victor’s victory once again. The Young And The Restless viewers, BIG NEWS for you, Ashland Locke, is most certainly dead on the soap opera. In the recent episodes of The Young And The Restless, we got to see Nick and Ashland getting in a violent confrontation where Ashland smashed into the fireplace and lay there motionless in a pool of blood. Both Nick and Victoria freaked out and called Victor. By the time these siblings came back to the room, Ashland was gone.
Now, this is very common in soap operas for a character to return after they have been presumed dead. So, all fans were wondering if Ashland was dead or if he would come back. We have the most definitive answer to that. All the Young And The Restless fans, we have the confirmed news that Ashland is most certainly dead and isn’t coming back anytime soon.
Recently, Ashland portrayer- Robert Newman shared a video where he thanked everyone for welcoming and appreciating him as the “head villain” on The Young And The Restless. In this same video, he clarified that his contract as Ashland got over five weeks back. The scenes that Y&R viewers saw of Victor dying were true because Ashland really died at Nick’s hands. Newman said that those were his last scenes on the soap and the end of his contract.
Right now, the actor has left L.A., and he is in Michigan with his family, almost 3000 miles away from The Young And The Restless sets. It is clear that Newman is enjoying going back to his family. He said that he understood that some people had trouble trying to accept him as Ashland after Richard Burgi’s exit, but he is thankful for all the love that everyone gave him. He said that he loved playing this character, but it’s time for goodbye, at least for now.
As for what will happen in the future, The actor ended his video on a rather hopeful note. He did not rule out the idea of Ashland’s return completely. In fact, he said that maybe one day, he’ll see everyone again because you never know. On The Young And The Restless, fans haven’t really seen the end of Ashland because his body has gone missing from the spot. That does leave the door for his return ajar.
