The Young And The Restless fans who have been keeping up with the show know that Richard Burgi was let go of the show. TV Seasons & Spoilers previously reported that Richard posted a video on Instagram where he talked about his exit. He admitted that he unknowingly violated the show’s COVID policy.
Burgi’s exit from The Young And The Restless was sudden, and the recasting of Ashland happened overnight. Burgi felt terrible about not following the guidelines. But instead of holding any grudges against the show, Richard said, “they’re doing the best they can, as we all are.”
He then wished Robert Newman lots of good wishes, the actor who replaced him on Y&R. He added, “he’s going to work with a great actress and a great, great cast.” Undoubtedly, Burgi behaved like an absolute gentleman. Soap opera viewers know when someone is let go or fired from any show, actors freak out and speak badly of the show and the cast. But, Richard did exactly the opposite of it.
He obviously felt terrible about leaving the job that he loves. But, it looks like he is hopeful for whatever is coming up next. On January 22, 2022, Burgi shared a picture of his wife and him on Instagram. He probably shared the photo to show how he has been able to keep his calm during these tough times.
“May you all find someone who loves and supports you and has your back! Happy weekend”. He cheered, hashtagging his post, among other things, #Godhasaplanforyou, he said. With that pure bliss on his face, fans know that Richard is eternally grateful for his wife, who immensely supports him.
No wonder fans miss him because of the phenomenal actor that he is. There were lots of comments from his fans on Instagram. One of the fans wrote, “We’re gonna miss you on Y&R!! Ashland fit you like a glove!” Another fan wrote, “Gonna miss you on Y&R. You became one of my favorites.”
A lot of fans commented about how they will miss him in the portrayal of Ashland on The Young And The Restless. TV Seasons & Spoilers also wishes Richard Burgi very good luck in his future endeavors. We would miss him on the CBS soap. And fans are excited to see what new Ashland (Robert Newman) brings to the table. Until then, stay tuned. And don’t miss the action.
