The Young and the Restless recap reveals that the Wednesday episode of the soap opera was all about emotional moments and heartfelt conversations. While there was some planning and plotting, it was mostly about making amends. First, viewers saw Adam as he asks Sally to do something rather unethical. Next, Jack listens to Billy as he makes a proposition. Sharon also starts shopping for Christmas but ends up in a rather concerned mood.
Chance has returned. So, he catches up on everyone and everything. Phyllis and Jack clear the air as they make some amends. They decide where they want to go next with their relationship. The December 8, 2021 episode also sees Lily as she makes a promise. What was this about? Keep reading to find out.
The Young And The Restless: Adam Wants Sally To Spy
Starting off the December 8 episode is Adam, who goes to the Society and approaches Sally’s table. He asks her to tell him if she sees Billy behaving strangely. Sally feels like she isn’t there to do that and tells Adam that he will have to tell her what he plans if he needs her help. Sally is skeptical that Adam has developed some empathy, or maybe he just crossed some line.
While Adam and Sally talk, Lily hears all of this. She comes to know that Adam is trying to get Sally to spy on Billy. She also overhears Adam as he suggests that he wants to end this war because Billy clearly can’t take another significant loss. So, this pushes Lily to the edge. All riled up, Lily leaves, stomping her feet.
Back with Adam and Sally, suddenly Adam changes his mind and tells Sally that she doesn’t need to do anything. However, Sally then feels that maybe Adam doesn’t trust her anymore. But, Adam makes it clear that there is no point for them to put themselves in a situation like this. Sally then admits that she doesn’t want to be one of those people who drags Billy down. Adam acts like he understands all of this and asks Sally to focus on her Job. He also asks her to forget that he asked her to do anything like such.
All of this ends on a rather playful note. Sally, feeling very frustrated, leaves Adam’s office, and Adam smirks as he sits on his desk. He makes it all look like he is up to something, and he is just using Sally as a pawn. So, this will make a rather interesting equation.
Jack Turns Billy Down
Over at the Grand Phoenix, Phyllis is a huge mess when Jack comes in. After taking care of Phyllis, Jack turns his attention to Billy. Tvseasonspoilers’ weekly spoiler claimed that Billy will make a proposition for Jack. He urges him to help him raise the fund to buy ChanceComm from Jill Abbott. Jack listens to everything that Billy has to say, but then he turns him down. Jack doesn’t want to fuel Billy’s urge to make a bigger mess. So, he asks him to let this go. However, the good news is, Jack will make sure that Billy knows that he is always welcome at the Jabot.
The Young And The Restless: Sharon Starts Christmas Shopping
On the other end of the town, The Young and the Restless viewers get to see Sharon as she tells Rey how difficult it is to buy a Christmas present for him. She continues complaining, but Rey takes her by surprise when he tells her that she has already given him the best gift. He tells Sharon that she has given him everything by marrying him, and she cannot ever match that.
However, Sharon feels quite determined to buy her husband a perfect present. Keeping this in mind, she reaches out to Esther Valentin and hopes that she can help her. This escalates, and the two women sit down, catching up and discussing various things. They also talk about Chance’s homecoming and express their concern. Sharon talks about how she is worried about Chance’s emotional state and the adjustments he is making.
Chance Feels Guilty
Speaking of Chance’s homecoming, Tvseasonspoilers previously reported that Chance will be fighting a lot of guilt. He will be in an emotional phase as he feels that he has missed a lot. Y&R viewers know that Chance had been away on the mission for months. So, he had missed many of Dominic’s precious milestones. So, Chance is feeling very bad.
Abby comes to Chance’s rescue and tells him that she had recorded everything for him to see later on. The couple sits down to watch all the videos Abby has made, and Chance becomes even more emotional. There are videos that see Abby as she cries about how much she hates to do this alone.
Looking at all of this, Abby apologizes and tells Chance that she had forgotten what some of these videos had. But, Chance tells Abby that he is actually thankful that he got to see what Abby had experienced while he was away. After that, he promises Abby that he will do everything to make up for everything that he has missed.
The Young And The Restless: Jack And Phyllis Make Decisions
At the Grand Phoenix, Jack sees how Phyllis is a mess, and he goes to check up on her. He senses that Phyllis isn’t herself. So, he takes her to Phyllis’s suite to talk to her in private. As they reach the suite, Phyllis acts really nervous and starts blabbing. He then calls her out on how nervous she is and asks her if all of this happening because he confessed his feelings?
The Young and the Restless recap confirm that Phyllis then assures Jack that he has been a wonderful friend after her split from Nick Newman. As she continues to speak, she tells him that she was blown away by Jack’s Thanksgiving gesture and thinks that his confession did change something. Phyllis also argues that their friendship is stronger than ever at this point and makes it clear that she wants to make sure that it remains like this.
After hearing Phyllis out, Jack agrees that what they share is rare and then suggests that they should set some boundaries. Jack makes it clear that while he may still have feelings for Phyllis, that doesn’t mean that he has to act on them. He then urges Phyllis to carefully listen to what he has to say. He tells her that he doesn’t want to rekindle things if they will just bring back the hurt and pain of the past.
Jack tells Phyllis that it took him a lot of effort to put his heart back together. So, he doesn’t want to be in a position where he ends up heartbroken again. He doesn’t think that he will be able to handle it all.
The Young and the Restless spoilers imply that Phyllis listens to all of this very carefully and nods in understanding. While they might have decided to continue being friends, these scenes end up in a rather hopeful tone. So, something might happen later on.
Rey Visits Chance
On the other end of the town, Rey runs into Billy and informs him that the DA did not allow him to pursue the blackmail case. After this, he acknowledges that he hopes that he never has to cuff Billy again, and Billy seems rather appreciative. After this, Rey goes to visit Abby and Chance.
Y&R viewers would know Rey and Chance are buddies as they worked together. So, Rey visits Chance and hugs him. He tells him that he doesn’t have to hurry to come back to force. To this, Abby selfishly says that she wants her husband to herself for a while. Chance agrees that he needs to spend some time with his family too. So, Rey appreciates this and leaves. Then, Rey sits down with Sharon as they speak about their concerns for Chance.
The Young And The Restless: Billy And Lily Support One Another
Rounding off The Young and the Restless episode of December 8, 2021, are Billy and Lily, who talk about Adam. Since Lily knows that Adam is up to something, she tells Billy about all of it. Lily is rather worried about what Adam might be up to, and Billy gloats. Billy feels that his plan is working, but he also asks Lily if he has her support.
Lily is still skeptical about how dangerous Adam is, but, she reassures Billy that she supports him and loves him. The episode ends with Lily and Billy snuggling together on the sofa, thinking about the whole situation. It looks like Billy and Lily are bracing themselves for a rather dangerous war.
