TV Season & Spoilers recently reported the exciting news of Shemar Moore returning to The Young and The Restless to reprise his role of Malcolm Winters. For the unversed, Malcom was first introduced on the CBS’ legacy soap in 1994. Shemar Moore has portrayed the character on and off since then till date. He also happens to be Lily’s father and Devon’s adoptive uncle. We don’t get to see him on-screen as often as we would love to, but that might soon change!
As of now, the news is that the phenomenal Shemar Moore will reprise Malcolm to attend a special evening planned by Devon and Lily to celebrate Neil’s life on The Young and The Restless. The latest spoilers tease that there will be the same warm family moments ahead for the blended clan. Devon’s bio-mom, Harmony, will also return in an effort to bond. Initially, this storyline was touted as a limited one. However, things could change owing to the latest development in Shemar Moore’s other CBS show, S.W.A.T.
Could S.W.A.T.’s Cancellation Lead To Shemar Moore Making A More Permanent Return To The Young and The Restless?
The Young and The Restless Star is a well-known name in both, Daytime and Primetime shows. He has been portraying the character of Sergeant II Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson on CBS’ S.W.A.T, which has aired 5 seasons so far. However, the latest word on the block is that the network has now canceled the series. Its upcoming 6th season will be the last one now that CBS has not renewed it. This came as a shock because it was the network’s most established and expensive series still on the air.
Considering that Shemar was playing the leading role in the series, the cancellation might give him some free time to focus on other shows. Moreover, since he is returning to The Young and The Restless, there is a chance that the production and the star might reach an understanding that may lead to his extended stay on the soap. This could really change the dynamics in Devon’s family. Meanwhile, it will also be great news for the seasoned actor’s fans. As they will still get to see their favorite star on the screen, possibly five times a week!
While this is indeed a lucrative prospect, there is no confirmation regarding it from the star or the production. So we guess we will have to stay tuned to The Young and The Restless to find out how long Malcolm really stays in Genoa City! Meanwhile, keep an eye on TV Season & Spoilers, and we will report back to you as soon as we hear anything new!
