The Young And The Restless: Chance’s Exit Opens The Door For [THIS] & Phyllis’ Love Story

In the ever-changing world of The Young and the Restless, love triangles and corporate power plays happen a lot, something big is about to happen. So fans get ready for an interesting change that could mix up the romantic story of one of the soap’s favorite characters. As Chance says goodbye to the GCPD and starts a new job in the corporate world, there’s now an empty spot in the police department. But don’t worry, because there’s talk that a familiar face might come back to fill the gap and maybe start a new love story for Phyllis. Could a certain FBI agent be the one Phyllis has been waiting for? Let’s delve in and find out what is about to happen.

Chance Bows Out, GCPD Left Cop-less

The GCPD is now cop-less, and with the city in need of someone to uphold the law, speculation is rife about who could step into the role. When Chance said he was leaving the GCPD for a corporate job, viewers probably groaned. Having another executive join the game of musical CEOs might not be good for the show. But, with the GCPD losing someone, there might be something good happening, especially for Phyllis. As Chance quits the police, and with Paul gone and Rey no longer in the picture, Y&R is left without any cops.

Y&R/ Chance leaves GCPD

Josh Griffith, the head writer, recently expressed his desire to bring in more villains like Cameron Kirsten and crazy Aunt Jordan. Given these plans, Genoa City will require someone to step up and maintain some level of law and order. So, who is better than Ronan Malloy? Ronan, who is Chance’s half-brother, is an FBI agent and has worked with the GCPD before. He’s right for the job, way better than Chance, who aims to be a big-shot in business. Besides, Ronan has a rich history in Genoa City.

The Young And The Restless: Who Will Wear The Badge As Chance Turn Down?

Remember, he used to be with Chloe. And Heather. And, most importantly, Phyllis. So if he comes back now, he could stir things up in Chloe’s pretty stable marriage to Kevin. Ronan could help Heather get Daniel’s attention by making him a little jealous. Or he might pick up where he left off with Phyllis, who hasn’t had a dance partner for a long time. Michelle Stafford has been incredibly entertaining in her role as Phyllis, trying to start fresh (mostly by getting involved in others’ affairs).

Y&R/ Ronan and Phyllis reunite

But when the day ends, Phyllis is like a missile looking for heat. She just needs to aim at the right guy – and that guy is Ronan. Fans always wondered why The Young and the Restless didn’t focus more on their relationship when Jeff Branson first appeared on the show. Even he didn’t get it. When he left in 2012, he told Michael Fairman TV, “Here’s so much story there that was never touched… If I come back, I would more than anything play out a story with Tricia Cast (Nina) and really do the Phyllis/Ronan storyline properly, which I think was the way it was going.”

“It was more loving and real,” he continued, “more than just hooking up and having beer and pizza. There was real potential.” We agree. Maybe now, with a spot available at the GCPD, The Young and the Restless will finally tap into that potential. What do you think will happen? We will have to wait to know. The Young and the Restless airs on CBS all weekdays. Don’t miss the action. Also, make sure you keep coming back to TV Season & Spoilers for more Y&R updates like this.
