It’s been a while since we saw Amanda Sinclair on The Young and The Restless. The last we saw Mishael Morgan embody the stunning character, she left Genoa City heartbroken. Amanda and Chance Chancellor had walked in on their respective partners, Devon and Abby, hooking up. Devon and Amanda’s relationship was already hanging by a thread, and seeing him betray her like that just snapped the thread. Consequently, Amanda broke up with her boyfriend and headed out of GC for good.
This was the perfect way of writing out Amanda’s character from The Young and The Restless, as Mishael Morgan had bid goodbye to the CBS soap. The talented actress wanted to explore newer avenues and scored a recurring role on Chicago Med. She plays Dr. Petra Dupre on the famous show. In a recent chat with TV Insider, Mishael Morgan expressed her pleasure in portraying the doctor on Chicago Med. She shared that she has made some new friends on the show and has become really comfortable in her role as Petra. Furthermore, she insisted that she loves playing the character and that there is no chance of her role ending anytime soon.
The Roads Back To The Young And The Restless Still Open For Mishael Morgan
That being said, the talented actress assured that she still loves her old friends and colleagues from The Young and The Restless. Mishael still admired her character of Amanda Sinclair deeply. Interestingly, before she started portraying Amanda on Y&R, she also played her twin sister, Hillary. The gorgeous star shared that when she was taking her break from Amanda, The Young and The Restless makers insisted that they will only send Amanda out of Genoa City. There was no way they were willing to kill her character twice.
This piece of insider info certainly has brightened our hopes of seeing Mishael return to The Young and The Restless as Amanda. So cheer up, fans, this is not a definite end of the road for her on the soap. Moreover, Mishael feels that Amanda handled the situation really well. She did not lose her power or dignity even when she was reeling in shock. “It really showcased how you should respond to these situations,” Mishael stated.
Considering that the makers still want to keep the doors open for her return and Mishael feels so positively about her character, we might just see her hang the doctor’s court and walk back as the fiery attorney we love so much!
