The Blacklist Season 8 Episode 17: Synopsis Reveals Details
The next episode, The Blacklist Season 8 Episode 17, is titled- Ivan Stepanov, and it isn’t coincidental that Reddington’s “Friend from the East” is also named Ivan Stepanov. So, the upcoming episode will indeed have its main focus on this character. The synopsis for the upcoming episode is also out, and while it doesn’t reveal a lot of details, it does gives a few hints.
The synopsis reveals that Red will desperately try to save an old friend. It looks like this old friend is none other than Ivan. The other half of the synopsis suggests that Liz will join hands with Townsend, and the two of them will interrogate someone. Who could that be? We will know soon.
Now one of the big questions that this synopsis raises is, would Reddington be able to rescue this friend. Moreover, is this friend really a friend? That is a big question indeed. The two of them have clearly been working on something for the past many years, but we don’t know what it is yet.
The sixteenth episode of Blacklist Season 8 did hint at a possibility of Red being a Russian agent. Is he? Let’s hope not. It would be far more interesting if we came to know that he was playing the part of a double agent indeed. Things would get more interesting if he were working on an important mission; who knows?
As for Liz, the synopsis says that she and Townsend start interrogating someone, and it does not sound like good news for Ivan. But, at this point, we have to consider that he is a tough guy. So, it will be really long before she breaks him. Would all of this put Liz in some sort of danger?

The promo for The Blacklist Season 8 Episode 17 is out, and it suggests that things might not be like we are all thinking at the moment. After all, viewers know that Townsend can really kill Liz while they interrogate Ivan. The promo sees Red as he goes to the Task Force to ask for help. Viewers are aware that Red cares a lot about Liz, and that could also be one of the reasons why he is suddenly ready to expose his real relationship with the Russian agent.
It looks like some secrets will come out in the upcoming episodes but will all secrets be out? It doesn’t look like so. Things might get intense and trickier.
