Teen Mom: The Next Chapter premiered last week with its second season’s first episode. While MTV promoted the season as one of the sweetest seasons of the franchise, it has failed to impress fans. This season featured the OG Teen Moms and will showcase their journey. The show started when they were teenagers, and now they are moms of teenagers. The show has come to a full circle moment, but sadly, the viewership declined.

MTV promoted the show, but all their efforts have gone futile. Season 2B cast did extensive promotions of the show and even did interviews. The first episode premiered on January 30, and it recorded the least viewership in the franchise’s history. The season began in 2022 and got fairly good views, but now viewers seem to have lost interest. So, what could be the reason for the show to have the least live viewership?

Teen Mom: Leah Messer Talks About Her Dating Life & Daughter Ali’s Muscular Dystrophy Condition

In a recent interview, Teen Mom star Leah Messer shared that she is single and not looking to mingle. She also joked that she is single like a Pringle! Leah also talked about her daughter Ali’s muscle condition. Her daughter’s muscles grew weak progressively, and she required a wheelchair to walk longer distances.

Leah shared that it is challenging to navigate through her daughter’s condition. She elaborated further that she and her family are doing what’s best for Ali, but it’s difficult. She wants her daughters to experience life and learn from their mistakes but she is scared for them.

Teen Mom: The Second Chapter Records An All Time Low Viewership

Teen Mom: The Next Chapter features all the OG moms of the first season of 16 & Pregnant. They all came back to how their journey as moms. The show started with them pregnant in their teen years, and now they are mothers to teenagers. This is a full circle moment for the cast, and viewers showered love to the season’s chapters. However, 2B failed to impress fans. It had the least live and same-day viewership.

Teen Mom: The Second Chapter’s first episode focused on Maci Bookout and Ryan Edwards. The ex-couple came together to buy their son Bentley a car for his 16th birthday. The episode had merely 205,000 views. It recorded a 0.08 rating in the A18-49 sector. It includes people aged between 18 and 49 and is coveted by advertisers who watched the show live or after the premiere.

Teen Mom first premiered back in 2010, and since then, there have been many streaming services. These do affect the love viewership record. In 2010, the show was getting millions of views, but now it has drastically dropped. Season 2 B episode 1’s viewership is even lower than the show’s other episodes. The last episode of 2A has a total of 250,000 ratings and an average viewership of 350,000.

Where Teen Mom is failing to get views, MTV’s other show, The Challange, recorded an impressive rating. All Stars: Next Chapter garnered over 314,000 views. It also reduced 0.13 A18-49 rating. It seems like Teen Mom will have to bring in more plot twists to gain attention. Only time will tell if the viewership will go up or remain low.
