Teen Mom: Mackenzie McKee Is A Type 1 Diabetic With Her Tubes Tied

In a trailer for Season 2 of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, Mackenzie expressed her desire to have a baby with Khesanio. It seems she has been considering a fourth child for a while and is now exploring all her options to make it happen. In a recent exclusive clip from the upcoming episode of the MTV show, Mackenzie and Khesanio are seen visiting a doctor, where she learns about the slim chances of her getting pregnant.

The doctor asked Mackenzie, who had tube litigation seven years ago if she would be open to tube reversal. “So we’d schedule the surgery to see what the tubes look like. And then, if everything looks good and you’re a good candidate to do the reversal, then we do the reversal,” the doctor explained. “Then we do the reversal, and then we try at home. In your age category, where you’re close to, there’s a 15 to 20% success rate.”

The information upset the Teen Mom star. She then found out from the doctor that there would only be a 20% chance of her getting pregnant after tube reversal. “That’s if nothing is wrong — like the sperm looks good, hormones are good, you’re ovulating,” said the doctor.

Mackenzie then inquired about her other options. The doctor mentioned that IVF has a 65-70% chance of success. When asked about the cost of the procedure, the doctor estimated it to be around $10,000 to $20,000. Considering her Type 1 diabetes, Mackenzie asked about the doctor’s experience with similar patients.

“The only thing that we require for getting pregnant with type 1 diabetes is having that A1C number at a 6.5,” he said in response, adding, “We are very strict on where we’re at with that number in terms of getting you pregnant.”

Teen Mom: Mackenzie Gets Engaged To Khesanio!

The happy couple announced their engagement in May when Khesanio proposed to the MTV star on a beach. The pair celebrated the union with a pop of champagne and embraced each other. They shared their excitement on Instagram. Later, Mackenzie wrote, “I can not believe I get to marry the most amazing human on earth! My best friend. I love you so much.”

Reflecting on her relationship with Khesanio, Mackenzie said, “We met one night, and then we talked every night after that.” She further appreciated how Khesanio stepped in to raise her kids. “I’m just really happy, and I’ve never had this kind of love. I just really, really look up to him as a person, and he just kind of stepped in and raised these kids,” she said. Keep coming back to TV Season & Spoilers, for all the latest Teen Mom updates.
