Maci Bookout and Ryan Edwards were the first couples featured on 16 & Pregnant. The two were later also a part of other seasons of Teen Mom. They came together after Maci got pregnant with their son Bentley, 13. She gave birth to him in 2008, and the couple got engaged. However, it did not last long, as Maci and Ryan broke up soon after and followed their paths. While the former found love and married Taylor McKinney, the latter wedded Mackenzie Edwards.
The ex-couple has not gotten along well and has a rocky relationship, even as co-parents. Ryan’s substance abuse has also created a lot of issues for them. Moreover, things hit the ground when Maci issued restraining order against him because he threatened her and her husband. However, in a recent episode, Ryan resented his actions as the situation escalated.

Ryan, his father, his mother, and wife, Mackenzie, were fired from Teen Mom. Since then, things have taken a rougher road between the two. During the recent Teen Mom: Family Reunion episode, the cast gathered for the reunion in New York.
Although Ryan and his mother declined the offer, they still showed up and sat across from Maci Bookout. People who follow Teen Mom would know that he does not have the best relationship with his son, Bentley. Hence, it is a sensitive topic between his biological parents. Ryan got emotional while expressing his desire to have a relationship with his son. The legal actions and drug issues have distanced him from his eldest child.
Further, he apologized to his high school sweetheart, Maci, stating that his words were hateful. Eventually, she also apologized and admitted that her words were hurtful and disrespectful. Moreover, the Teen Mom alum blatantly disregarded his feelings and apologized for not putting more effort into understanding him. Thankfully, Ryan and Maci understood each other’s stance and vowed to be better co-parents.
Maci believes they should work on their co-parent relationship and build confidence and comfort. Further, Ryan committed to showing up more to build the father-son relationship. The two agreed and met the host, Dr. Cheyenne Byrant, to embrace as a group. A video shared by a Teen Mom Instagram page also shows him crying about the parts he missed as a parent. Ryan confessed that he had not been there several times to see his son play or grow up.

Mackenzie Edwards filed a petition for an order of protection from her husband, Ryan Edwards. She claimed he threatened her with a knife in front of his children. Further, the police also arrested Ryan for possessing drugs and controlled substances. Moreover, the Teen Mom alum also requested temporary custody of their children, Jagger and Stella but not for protection from their father.
However, Ryan has belittled and denied the claims. He stated that he does not speak for her, although he has never tried to hurt but tell her.
