Jenelle took to TikTok on February 15 to tell the fans that the CPS had officially dropped the allegation against her and David. She had wanted to keep the news “private,” but “someone” had already leaked many things to the media. This was why Jenelle made the video as a means to “control the narrative.”
And now, in a new turn of events, the Teen Mom star has another ‘win.’ The Ashley revealed that the Court had awarded Jenelle full custody of Jace. While the case was going on, Jace was in the custody of David’s sister, April. It was a temporary solution while he waited for a vacant bed in a mental health facility. However, now he is back under Jenelle’s care.
The Ashley revealed that the Court informed all the involved parties about the change in custody on Tuesday night. Along with the custody, the Court has also removed the gag order from all the parties. Jenelle getting Jace’s custody means she has legal. Though he isn’t physically in her custody, she can still make decisions about him. The no-contact order against David still stands. But things in the custody agreement between Barbara and Jenelle would return to what they were before the case.
Jenelle’s custody would also mean she must pay the bills for Jace. This means the Teen Mom star will also be financially responsible for Jace’s wellbeing. Jenelle had claimed she had reached out to MTV to ask for help taking care of Jace, but they didn’t respond. One point to note is that though the CPS dropped the allegations, David’s felony case for “assault by strangulation” will continue as usual.
