MTV is currently airing the new season of the Teen Mom spinoff, The Family Reunion. It has just aired its second episode of the third season. However, things might not look too good for the show.
Usually, fans love to watch the drama play out on the show. And the Family Reunion has many of the favorite drama llama cast members. But in a shocking turn of events, the new season ratings are rather low, almost hitting rock bottom!
Teen Mom: Family Reunion New Season Ratings Are Super Low!
MTV has had Teen Mom on its network for a long time now. Since the audience loved the show so much, they also released its various spinoffs. Now, the show has seven spinoffs, all with different cast members. However, some cast members are sometimes part of one or more spinoffs.
Right now, MTV is airing the new season of The Family Reunion. It is the franchise’s first show in an international location, Cartegena, Colombia. So, the fans were excited to see the show play out. Many fan favorites were also returning this season, so there seemed to be no problem with anything so far.
But, in a shocking turn of events, the new season has a very low rating. Only 135,000 viewers tuned in to watch the 2nd episode when it aired on Wednesday. That’s not all, as the viewers rated the episode an abysmal 0.05. Other shows in the same time slot had higher ratings from viewers of the same age.
Even last week’s premiere episode had a low rating of 0.07. Only 170,000 viewers tuned in to watch the show on the day of its premiere. This is less than a third of the Teen Mom spinoff’s season 1 ratings. It looks like the fans might not be liking the cast’s weird shenanigans. They didn’t really like Jade and Cheyenne as hosts. And after the cast recently tried their hand at Spanish and ended up butchering it, the fans might not be so keen to watch further.
Teen Mom: What Are The Other Former & Current Cast-Members Up To?
The Family Reunion filmed the episodes last year and is premiering them now. Mackenzie McKee joined the show this season. She recently did an Instagram Q&A where a fan asked her about her recent filming experience. The Teen Mom star replied it was “a lot easier with a partner who talks.” It looks like she was throwing shade at her ex, Josh, who rarely said much on the show.
Some former cast members are also making headlines. Kailyn Lowry was in the news for giving birth to her twins. And now, the star is planning to move to a “new house” just two years after moving into her current one. She said she was “building” the house as she and her family needed the “space.”
