Teen Mom stars Catelynn and Tyler Baltierra are struggling to adjust to Carly’s adoptive parents’ demands. The duo welcomed their daughter Carly when they were merely teens. They were very young and had no job or money at that time. So, they decided to give up early for adoption. It was a tough decision. They opted for an open adoption so that they could meet their daughter once a year. They could also see her photos regularly and send her gifts.
After a few years, Carly’s parents, Brandon and Teresa Davis, cut all ties with Catelynn and Tyler. They closed the adaptation and changed the rules they had agreed upon 15 years ago. This was exceptionally tough for Catelynn and Tyler. They tried their best to reach out to Carly, but it was not possible. During a recent episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, Catelynn shared more details about the new rules Carly’s adoptive parents set for them.
Teen Mom: Tyler Baltierra Reveals His Dad Influenced Him to Give Carly Up For Adoption
Tyler Baltierra shared a secret in the recent episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter. He revealed that his dad influenced him to give Carly up for adoption. His dad was an addict and was never present in their life. So, he thought that even he would not be a good father.
So, he got scared and gave up Carly for adoption. After marrying Catelynn, he understood life better, and she helped him heal. Now, he empathizes with his dad and understands that he has resources that his dad did not have.
Teen Mom: Catelynn And Tyler Can No Longer Send Gifts To Carly
In the recent episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, Catelynn talked in detail about Carly’s adoptive parents. She revealed that Teresa straight-up told their adoption counselor, Dawn Baker, that they blocked Catelynn for their “mental health.” Teresa also asked Baker to pass along a few instructions for Cate. She told them not to send any more gifts to Carly.
Teresa said that the couple is now “not allowed to send gifts anymore because it’s uncalled for.” This was very heartbreaking for the couple. Apparently, Teresa added, “Tell them they can’t tell anybody I said that.” Catelynn then elaborated that she had decided not to follow her instructions. She will tell everyone about Teresa’s orders. Tyler also supported his wife and added, “You have my kid. You can’t take my story, too.” Things did not end here!
Teresa also told Dawn that she deserves a “very sincere apology” from Catelynn. On the other hand, Catelynn feels like she’s the one who’s owed an apology. She even asked for what reason does Teresa owes an apology. Catelynn further added that Teresa should apologize to them for what you did to them.
She elaborated that Teresa did not like that Catelynn and Tyler used the word “sister” to refer to their other daughters. Tyler even asked her what word they should use then. Should they say birth sister? What would she prefer? Apparently, Teresa did not have an answer. Catelynn shared that she talks about Carly because she wants her to know that she and Tyler “never stopped trying” to connect with her.
