Tyler and Catelynn weren’t able to pay the house taxes. While their estimated net worth was around $6 million, they constantly faced financial strain. They have been through a lot over a few years of their wedding. They gave up their firstborn, Carly, for adoption in 2009, whose adoptive parents have now cut off ties with the couple. Teen Mom: Tyler & Catelynn Are Buried In $5K Tax Debt!

Teen Mom couple Tyler and Catelynn Baltierra landed in hot water after not clearing the taxes for their Michigan home in 2022. They were given notice of two separate tax liens amounting to $535,010.97 and $321,789.06 each. Surprisingly, they successfully paid off the debt, but they still had a balance of $5K in taxes for their house.

Tyler and Catelynn listed their historic house in September 2023 without a second option. Despite being up for sale for a year, they couldn’t sell the property. According to The Sun, the Michigan Register of Deeds Office presented a Certificate of Forfeiture of Real Property on March 1, 2024. The duo’s house was forfeited to the Sanilac County Treasurer for not being able to pay the remaining taxes.

Tyler and Catelynn bought their Octagon property together in 2017 for $220,000. The U.S. Sun was the first to explore and describe the house, which is called gorgeous because it is full of history. It sits on 15 acres and was built in 1869 by Great Lakes sea Captain George W Smith. Although they have renovated the house, they have also preserved its historical integrity.

The reality stars first made their house available in September 2023 for $454,900. But seven months earlier, InTouch reported that they bought themselves a new Michigan home in Lexington for $435,000. The couple wanted to provide enough space for their daughters, Rya, Nova, and Vaeda.

It has come to notice that Tyler and Catelynn slashed the previous price of their home to $449,900 in December 2023. Around September of the same year, they removed the Zillow listing due to no response. But they have now struck a deal with a potential buyer. Even though they have accepted the offer, they are yet to finalize the sale. Keep coming back to TV Season & Spoilers for all the latest reality TV updates.
