Tandav Season 2 Is Already In Works
Recently in an interview with Mid-Day, Ali Abbas Zafar spoke about his new political-drama Tandav and if we would get more of it. In the interview, Zafar says that web-series, on the whole, are like test cricket. When one loves the game, then they play test cricket over everything. That is what he feels about film-making. He confessed that engaging the audience is trickier for over 8-9 hours.
Speaking about Tandav season 2, he revealed that they have started working on the upcoming season. In fact, they had started working on Tandav Season 2 even before the first season was released this January 2021. The scripts for the upcoming season are already ready, and the creators plan to get into production soon.
What Would Happen Next?
The lead for the series, Saif Ali Khan, recently spoke to Express.co.uk and spilled some beans on what could come up in Tandav season 2. Speaking about his role, he explains that he plays the role of an ambitious and cunning son of the prime minister. His character (Samar) is aggressive, passionate, and dangerous. Continuing on, he says that Samar is a cross between Michael Corleone and The Godfather, just someone with a little more emotion. While Khan did not reveal many details but keeping in mind the references he used, we can expect that Samar will see a downfall in the second season.
By the end of the first season, Samar made a shocking move when he pulled a U-Turn on his motive to become the prime minister. Instead, he positioned himself to become an adviser who would make or break the successors. While Samar Pratap Singh destroyed the possibility of Anuradha Kishore, who thought she would take the throne, Samar asked the senior party leader, Gopal Das Munshi, as the Prime Minister. This was a twist that will be explored in the next season. This move was quite a shock.
What Else Do We Know About Tandav Season 2?
The ending twist of the series was indeed a shock, but that is not it. The show left viewers with a number of open ends that will be explored in the upcoming season. One of them was Kailash’s affair and the details about it. It looks like in the next season, Samar will gather dirt around Kailash’s affair and hence pull Gopal Das Munshi in this process. However, things won’t be very easy now.
Another shocking storyline that was left open-ended was Samar-Ayesha. At the end of the first season, Ayesha betrayed Samar. Ayesha is quite a competitive person who has been watching Samar’s move very carefully until now. It is possible that Ayesha would turn against Samar in the upcoming season. In the first season, Samar tried to use Shiva to turn the game over. However, that did not happen. Shiva had refused to join politics. Would this decision change in the next season? Perhaps.
