Tammy underwent bariatric surgery in late 2022, which helped her lose over 330 pounds. She struggled to reintegrate into her life following surgery and sudden weight loss. Amy, on the other hand, spent days dealing with health issues and educating herself to become a good single parent after the divorce. Luckily, the Slatons have support from their extended family in sensitive and crucial moments.

For Amy, she needs rigorous work on her legal problems and mental health. While she didn’t lose much weight like her older sister, she slimmed down a bit post-birth of her sons. After she and her husband, Michael, got divorced, her mental state took the worst turn. Viewers slammed her multiple times for her lousy parenting and terrible choice of boyfriend. Yet, she tried to live up to their expectations.

Tammy and Amy Slaton no longer want to support 1000 Lb Sisters on TLC. With all their tough times shown on screen, they might opt for a break before filming the next season. Both of them dealt with things beyond their imaginations. Despite the most difficult times, they picked themselves up to rebuild their lives.
Amy and Tammy even allowed their siblings to step up their games in the reality TV series. Even if they know there are ways for them to carry less load with the show, the siblings may step back from it. After all, anybody would have time to themselves before the big return.
